WEEK 1) Topic , Language and subscribers

Alright before you even start your youtube channel , you have to plan out what direction that you are going for , which target audience , that you are going after , which industry . If you cannot define this at the very first stage you wont be able to start an impactful youtube channel .

You want to be the authority in your field . You want people to trust every single words that you share on your channel and take action to the instructions that you give .

You want to build your own fans base , community , followers , and this is the whole idea of making money with youtube .And language play a big part in defining your brand and also which community that you are going into

It is very important that you start something that you passionate about , you know love doing , the things that you do daily .

Never ever , go after money . If you go after money you will lost direction and you wont be able to build a successful youtube channel.

Every niche can earn money in youtube.

For example , audio sound effect , look at the subscribers and views. Talking about football news in Malaysia , looks at the subscribers and views.

Cooking , teaching languages online , fixing pipe , gardening , food review , every niche can make money in youtube.

The only catch over here is , can you do it on a consistent basis ? If you are doing video that you are not passionate about , is not the things that you are doing daily ,you wont be able to sustain the amount of videos that you need to upload daily or weekly .

I will talk more about this in a later frameworks .

So , you need to treat your youtube channel ass a brand .Just like nike , adidas , coca cola . It is a brand , a business .

Your subscribers are your customer your clients . Therefore , you cannot just look at a youtube channel is just a tool to make money . Theoretically yes it is. But in reality it is a brand , a company , a business.

And in order to make money , a business need modal , system framework to build it .Alright.

The very first things that you need to consider when building your youtube channel is the language .

Should you be using English ? Bahasa ? Chinese? Tamil ? Japanese ? or others languages ?

You can still go for it , but I choose not to . instead of using my effort to penetrate into the red sea , why not I spent my time and effort to make my way out by taking the route that Is less competitive but , also profitable ?

And therefore I choose to create videos in Bahasa , which give me the advantage to tap into a smaller group of people and less competitors in youtube .

Based on this data , not sure when is this taken , With a share of around 58%, it is most widespread in Malaysia. A total of about 54.8 m people worldwide speak Malay as their mother tongue.

Apart from Malaysia ,country like , Indonesia ,Thailand ,Singapore ,Brunei are also using bahasa as one of the language to communicate.

Lets not be greedy . If you able to penetrate to all this 58% of people that speak bahasa , you are already a super youtuber .and we are talking about millions of populations with this 58% .

So, English is not really the must when it come to video creation .And language also decide which community that are you tapping into , and also country that you are targeting.

Therefore , your task for this week is to decide 2 things , which niche that you want to go after and also which language that you want to go for .Make sure you have decided this before the next training video.

Welcome back guys , so I hope that you already know which category of videos and language that you want to go after .

And in this video I will share with you tools that you can use to do video topics analytics .

Now , lets face the facts , not all video can get traction , and not all video will be like by viewers .

As a video creator , we will need to know what sort of video that people want to watch , what sort of topic video that people is searching on youtube .

After you get this data , you will need to create these topics .

It does not matter in which niche you are , it works the same .

Now lets look at the very first method , which is google trends.

We can use google trends to find exactly what sort of topics that are hot and trending in youtube .

Choose the country that you are targeting .

For example ,my youtube video is about finance and I want to do a video that explain about credit cards.

So , all I need to do is just type in credit cards over here .

And choose youtube .

Scroll down and you will get to see what sort of keywords that people are searching in youtube that is related to the keywords credit cards .

As you can see over here , these are the keywords that people are searching on youtube that is related to credit cards . So , if these keywords are topics that you are familiar with , go for it .

Tube buddy intro how to sign up and pricing.

The next tool that I want to show you is tubebuddy.

Tubebuddy is really the ultimate tool that you need to use if you are serious in building your youtube channel.

As you can see on the right hand side of my screen , I have this data analysis system implemented inside my channel to help me on my topic research.

For example , I want to do a topic on shopify dropshipping.

So as you can see the data over here , search volume is very good .

Searches per month is 128k

Competition is poor , poor meaning very intense competition.

However , this does not mean that Shopify dropshipping is not a good topic to create. Instead you will need to go abit deeper .

With tube buddy it will also show you related searches about shopify dropshipping that you can consider in posting , and these are the topics that we want to consider in creating that is related to Shopify dropshipping.

If your topic is Shopify dropshipping , you wont stand a chance to win , especially if you are a new youtube creator.

So you can consider the topic show over here , which what people are searching , which is related to shopify dropshipping.

In keywords stats over here you will get so see more in depth details , such as most views , least views keywords in title , descriptions and in tags.

And it also show us the top channel that own this shopify dropshipping topic.

If shopify dropshipping is your main channel topic you can refer to this J rich channel.

Videos you own , is total video that we own in our channel.

Another key data that we want to get from tubebuddy is inside this keyword explorer.

For example I want to check is this topic make money with mobile is it worth going.

Just like before , we can get all the data regarding to the topic that we key in.

What is much more interesting is this , unweighted score over here.

This weighted score is the general score for how good this keywords is to target for oyur specific channel based on search volume, competition , relevancy and how you compare to others currently ranking in search.

So , this is very useful once you already have videos inside your channel and tube buddy will be able to do analysis no based on the youtube channel but your own youtube channel.This is very Important as what is trending in youtube might not be suitable for your channel .

With this weighted data , it can save our time in producing videos to test which video is good for our channel . In general we want to have a video topic that is atleast marked as good .

Next,if your topics is things that are happening around the news then newspaper is a great tool for topics research..

I have know youtuber that make video contents about local celebrity news and gain tonnes of views and subscribers.

I know youtuber that make video contents about football news that get tonnes of views and subscribers as well.

I know youtuber that make video contents about politics news that get tonnes of views and subscribers as well.

And all they do is just read from news paper .

Same goes to my channel . all of these videos” content are from newspaper .

Therefore , if your topics are information that can get from oneline/offline news paper , make sure you pay attention to the news.

Copy cat.

It is really hard to create consistent contents on a daily or even a weekly basis.

So , to help inspired idea , what I will do is , look for youtube channel that is similar to the topic that I want to create , and what I will do next is copy their content , ,modified to make it to my own style and post it up .

Now , during the modification , you can change to the language that your channel is targeting.

For example , the youtube channel that you are copying from is in English and your channel is in bahasa.

All you need to do is , translate English to bahasa and you will be targeting another group of people because of different language.

Subscribe to a couple of youtube channel that have similar or same contents that you want to create and use it as your guide in content creation.

Alright , so , in this week , your home work will be listing 10 topics that you want to post on your channel and also subscribe to 10 youtube channels that have same or similar content to what you want to create. Alright , make sure you complete this , and I will see you next week.

Welcome back to week 3 .

In this week , I want to share a tricks that no coaches talks about . which is also one of the main tricks that my youtube channel can gain 100K + subscribers in less than a year time.

The formula of gaining youtube subscribers at the fastest speeds is to pair your videos with the hot trending current videos.

Let me explain this in more in depth.

Fundamentally , there are 2 type of vidoes that I used to build my channel.

The first one , main topic that I want to post in long run plus current hot trending videos that will catch attention .

Now , the videos that I want to post in the long run may not be able to catch views and subscribers in the short run , and this will slow down the growth of my channel .But , these type of videos , can really give huge positive impact to my channel in the long run.

On the other hand , hot and trending videos , can really jack up the views and susbcribers of a youtube channel , however it will die of really fast , the video life of this video is not long .It maybe catches a lot of views and subscribers on the first 1-2 days , then it will die off .

However , for this main long run topic , it may not be able to catch views and subscribers in the short run , but the life of this video on your channel will be much more longer.

As you can see inside my youtube channel , I have 2 main type of videos ,the first one money making related videos , and the second one will be hot and trending news that are happening in Malaysia.

So, as you can guess from here , money making video is for long run and trending news will be for short run to boost views and subscribers.

Now it is really really important that you pair your long and short run videos with topics that are related .

On my channel , it is all about money. Therefore , most trending news that I post are some how related to money , like all the subsidies from government .

You do not want to post videos about cars and then suddenly a video about politics news , unless there are related .

The number 1 mistake of I make during creating videos are too depends on these short trending news .

Last year i post at least 4-5 videos about these trending news , because I am too greedy in getting all the views and subscribers , and neglected the long run videos .

When there are not much of trending news that are related to my niche , my channel are getting lesser and lesser of views .

So , this year , my plan will be pairing with only 1 long and 1 short videos every single days , as you can see on my youtube channel.

So the long one will be monetized to make money by selling my online courses and the short one will be on driving traffic and subscribers.

There are channel that is teaching how to weight loss all the way to how to fix a broken pipe at home.

I personally prefer to build this type of channel , as education never dies . And people will keep coming to your channel to learn something .And all you need to do is just share whatever that you know to your audience , that is it .

3) Prank/social experiment video

- As the name said , prank , where you make videos on pranking people or do some sort of social experiment .In this past 5 years this type of video has gain a huge popularity .

I personaly do not encourage begginers youtuber to start this type of channel unless you have a team to help you in doing this , and also for your own safety and others , as sometime it may cause harm and you may get into lawsuit .

4) Top 5 most…

- Top 5 10 most … this type of videos have been said it is very easy to produce , where you just need to compile the video material and put music on to it and that is it .

Well , I cannot denied that this is one of the easiest video to produce in general , however , you will need to be aware of the license of the videos that you take to reproduce , in case it trigger youtube”s copyright policy .

5) Audio/sound only video

- This type of channel where you just grab a copy right free sound track and make it into a video and post it on youtube .Where I do find it the easiest way to build a youtube channel .

By saying so , you will need to know where to get the free copyrighted audio for you to post so that it wont trigger the youtube copyright policy .later on in this training I will show you where to get all this.So don’t worry for now.

Once you know which type of topics that you want to go after , now we are going to use tubebuddy to find out 20 topics that are related to that topic and start making videos.

In this lecture I will use education as the niche , and make money online as the main topic for my channel.

So , how can I use tube buddy to streamline 20 topics that are high demand and not much of competitors ?

Well if the demand is high , but the amount of videos are also high , no point for us to get in , as it will be a huge challenge for our videos to get views and subscirbers.

Therefore , we need to search for youtube topics that are high in demand but not so much of competitors.

Lets go to youtube.There are 3 stages in topics research , which is general , advance and niche.

In general we will key in general topic idea such as make money online.

Then on advance , we will key in topic that is recomemended by tube buddy in order for us to get the niche topic.

In this video I will be sharing some of the money making method that you can use on your youtube channel .

On our previous lecture , you have discussed how to build your youtube channel , and in this lecture , we will be going through some of the money making method using youtube.

#1 Youtube ads

The most common way to make money with youtube is through youtube ads .

According to https://mint.intuit.com/blog/relationships/how-much-do-youtubers-make-5035/#:~:text=With%20the%20average%20YouTube%20pay,for%20every%201%2C000%20video%20views.

With the average YouTube pay rate hovering between $0.01 and $0.03 for an ad view, a YouTuber can make around $18 per 1,000 ad views, which comes out to $3 to $5 per 1,000 video views. Forbes also estimates that for top talent, a YouTuber can make about $5 for every 1,000 video views.

To be accepted into the YouTube Partners Program, you must:

• Have at least 1,000 subscribers

• Reach 4,000 valid public watch hours in the past 12 months

Please take note over here, Google will give you 68% of the revenue when displaying ads with AdSense. So, for example, if a video generates $1,000 from AdSense revenue, you will receive $680.

If your video gets thousands of views but no one watches or clicks the ad, you won’t make any money.

There are two types of ads: CPM (cost per thousand views) and CPC (cost per click).

If the advertisement is CPM, that means the viewer of your YouTube video must watch the ad for longer than 30 seconds (or if it’s a short video, for at least half the advertisement).

If it’s a CPC advertisement, then you get paid based on how many viewers click on the ads surrounding your video.

Per view, advertisers on average pay $.18. If your channel receives 1,000 views, it’s worth $18.

This is all about making money with youtube ads in a nutshell.

Second ,

Affiliate marketing.
This is by far the most common money making method right after youtube ads.

The concept of affiliate marketing is very simple . You create video that is related to the products or services that you want to promote.

Then you put a link for those that interested with the products or service to click and buy . When they buy you will get some commission .

There are a lot of affiliate marketing website available .The most popular one is

1) Clickbank

2) Linkshare

3) Involve asia

4) Bullmart

5) Amazon

For example , bullmart which is a up and coming marketplace in Malaysia . you can pick any products in this website , and do a products review videos and click on this share link here and post it up on your video description .

When people buy you will get this referral bonus over here .simple and easy.

Next selling online courses.

This is also a very common way of how youtubers monetize their channel.

If you are selling online courses , youtube definitely a great platform to sell your courses.

However , you will need to take note .

The online programme that you are promoting it will be best that if it is related with your channel content .

For example , if your channel is all about cooking , it will be weird if you are selling an investment course , right ?

If you are selling investment course , is best that your channel is about money making channel which is related to investment .

Next Ads space/sponsored videos

Trust me on this , when your channel reaches some level , company will hunt you to advertise their products on your channel .

You will receive tonnes of collaboration email .

Some experiences that I want to share regarding to this sponsorship ads on your channel.

A lot of companies do not want to pay per video , instead they will pay based on sales commission or views .

For example , if your channel brings sales in they will pay x amount of percentage . Pay per views will be every x amount of views the company will pay you x amount of money .

These 2 method are the most common collaboration proposal.

Normally I will reject all this because , it is not a win win situation .

When we post up a video , the company is actually pulling our traffic to their products/services . They are leveraging on our community.

Second , we need to spent time on creating and editing the contents .

Third , the video will be permanently stay on the channel .

And we don’t get any paid for all this works?

No way man .We are not cheap .

The counter proposal that I will give is a basic + commission or a basic + pay per views.

For example to produce a 5minutes video ,it will be RM 1000 + commission or RM 1000 + pay per views.

So the RM1000 is paid for our works ,using our community .

Therefore please take note on this when someone approached you.

And I will normally reject website that about cryptocurrency , definitely no for gambling website and others not popular money making website such as survey , make money clicking ads etc .

Alright , so , these are the 4 ways that you can make money with your youtube channel , i will see you on the next lecture.

In this week training , we will further push on maximizing your video exposure to gain more views and subscribers by stealing your competitors”s views and subscribers .

First thing first , how people discover your video ? one of the way to let youtube promote our video is by putting relevant tags on our videos .

When you video have relevant tags , youtube will actually push your video to others video that has similar content as yours over here on the right hand site discovery tab here.

For example , one of my video 3 Cara Mula Dropship Di Shopee malaysia ,Buat RM 700 Seminggu!

Which has about over 40k views and on the right hand side over , youtube will push videos that is related to this video and also video that I have watch before this .

As you can see all these videos are also related to my shopee videos.

So people that watched my videos , may also be interested with these all videos over here .

How your video can be push by youtube to this discovery tab ?

First of all will be the related tags of the videos , video title and also video description.

As we have learn on our previous week no.2 , I have introduced you all tubebuddy , where you can use it to check for the hot topic that people are searching for.

We can use the same tool to get the tags that this video , have and all you need to do now is to upload all these tags to your youtube channel with appropriate video title and description .

For example , I want to create another shopee video and I want to steal the tags from this video.
