    This is the introduction to Lance Michael Rooney's 24-module 'Your Mind-Body Journey Towards Wellness' video training course, which has a running time of over 5 hours. In this module, Lance discusses his journey towards mind-body health which started in earnest in 2016 after he refused conventional immunotherapy treatment for his stage 3 melanoma, deciding instead to go on a journey of Complementary and Alternative Medicine (CAM). In addition to major changes in his diet and embarking on a regular exercise regimen, this holistic CAM approach also involved harnessing the power of his mind to effect healing in his body.

    This module begins with a quick reminder of every day experiences which you might not have recognised with respect to how the mind impacts on the body (e.g. sweaty hands if you're giving a presentation, tummy pains before a job interview, headache if you're experiencing a conflict at work that you haven't yet resolved etc.).

    • You will discover one of many powerful studies that will feature throughout the course to illustrate the powerful impact of the mind on the body. In this case, the research conducted by the prestigious Yale University in Connecticut USA, which revealed how employee perceptions of stress in their work impact either positively or negatively on the physical body.

    • You will also learn about the PsychoPhysiologic Principle which shows how the mind impacts on the body and, crucially, vice versa.

    In this module, you will learn about the following:

    • How mental health issues like panic disorder, bipolar disorder and depression can lead to physical conditions like heart disease, psoriasis and migraines.

    • Some strategies that you can use to help in the prevention or treatment of heart disease, psoriasis and migraines, as well as panic attacks and bipolar.

      Each mind-to-body connection is supported by studies, the links to which can be found in the course transcript for further reading.

  • How Disease In Your Body Impacts On Your Mental Condition10:49

    In this module, you will learn about the following:

    • How certain physical health conditions like migraines, allergies and irritable bowel syndrome (IBS) can lead to mental disorders like anxiety and depression.

    • Some of the strategies you can use to help deal with migraines, allergies and IBS.

    • Both mind-to-body AND body-to-mind connections between anxiety and depression, and IBS.

Description

'Your Mind-Body Journey Towards Wellness' explores the incredible relationship between the mind and the body as it relates to your health. The course is comprised of 24 professionally-presented lectures which run for a total of 5 hours and 15 minutes. Each lecture is a mixture of the presenter, together with stunning videos and photographs, as well as on-screen captions for ease of understanding. Every one of the 24 lectures comes with its own downloadable transcript which you can read at your leisure and refer to in order to help you with each of the quizzes and the final practice test. The course is comprised of 5 multiple-choice quizzes on each of the first 5 sections and a practise test of 60 multiple-choice questions at the end of the course. Students who score a 60% mark or above on this final practise test, are awarded a certificate of course completion which is available for immediate download on the Udemy platform. Students may take this test an unlimited number of times until they secure the minimum 60% passing score.
