In this lecture, we will discuss the anatomy and physiology of female reproductive health and pregnancy. This lecture is part of a prenatal yoga teacher training I offer each year. If you are interested in going into the birth work field, I encourage you to explore your options. Doula and prenatal yoga teacher training are great ways to learn more about this topic and provide even more information about birthing mothers.
This lecture discusses each phase of your menstrual cycle and how you can mindfully nurture your body and mind. We will talk about movement, chakra, and breath practices tailored to each specific phase of your "MOON Cycle" AKA menstrual cycle. This lecture is also part of our doula and prenatal yoga teacher training. If you would like to learn more about becoming a certified doula or prenatal yoga teacher, let's connect.
Join me in these 5 minute yoga and movement practices that support each phase of your menstrual cycle. You only need 5 minutes of movement, a couple times a day to keep your body's energies aligned. Try each practice on it's own, or combine your favorite ones together.
Learn how to naturally support your womb health at home, through dietary modifications, herbal supplements and mindful movement practices. You should always consult with your healthcare provider before incorporating new practices into your routine or adding new herbs and supplements into your diet.
These two practices incorporate pelvic floor (AKA root chakra) awareness and breathing exercises to align your energy and clear any blockages of your root chakra. The first practice we do together is The Pelvic Clock Exercise. This practice will give you an awareness of the landscape of your pelvic floor and establish a deeper connection to your root chakra energy.
This breath practice brings your awareness to your root and sacral chakra through mudra (hand positions) and breathing techniques. Our root and sacral chakra energies are deeply connected to our reproductive organs and when they are blocked, we can experience imbalances. This breath was designed to help you clear any blockages and attune to the energy of your body for a healthy period and menstrual cycle.
This course was designed to give you a foundational understanding of how the female body works and natural wellness tips for nurturing your body during each phase of your menstrual cycle.
We discuss each reproductive organ and its function within your body, how the menstrual cycle works, and the basics of conception and pregnancy. This information is vital for all females because when we are empowered to understand how our body works, we can advocate for our health needs with more confidence.
The information that I share in this course comes from my education in Traditional Chinese Medicine, Yoga and Ayurvedic practices, doula training, childbirth educator background, and the holistic wellness that has been shared with me by my professors and mentors over the years.
The course is NOT meant as medical advice and you should always follow up with your healthcare provider if you are having female reproductive health issues.
In this course, you will find resources for physicians in the field of female health and reproductive wellness with expertise in their respective field, and can help you on your wellness journey.
