I strongly suggest you take time to plan for the week ahead. You will SAVE time and see the benefits throughout your life, not just in your school work.
1. Check your student email.
2. Read over your events and to-do list for the day.
3. Start checking things off!!
1. Purchase supplies (including a planner).
2. Accountability Conversations.
3. Model Planning.
4. Treat your student when they keep up with their goals.
*A course just for parents (how to support your high school or college student in their online class) is coming soon!
Are you frustrated with managing your high school student's homework? This course is for you. After taking this course, you will be able to teach your high school student to independently manage their own workload:
Parents will be able to teach their child how to plan their own week, including in person and virtual commitments.
Parents will be able to teach their child how to set routines for good sleep habits, exercise, and social times.
Parents will be able to teach their child how to add in homework tasks.
Parents will be able to teach their child how to reflect, monitor, and adjust if homework tasks are not being completed.
I would recommend completing this course with your child. You should have their student(s) work through the assignments with you to get the most out of this course, supporting and scaffolding as necessary. Some students will need more support and modifications than others. You know your child best. At the same time, do not complete the entire course for your child. The goal is to teach them independence and responsibility for their own coursework and other responsibilities.
The course includes supplies needed for planning, planner suggestions and free printables, planning methods, and ways to scaffold and support your student through this transition to independence.
