Welcome to Part 1 of Yoga History & Philosophy with Mark, an invitation to explore the roots of yoga through the wisdom of the Yoga Sutras of Patanjali, the Bhagavad Gita, the Upanishads, and foundational teachings from Buddhist philosophy.

Rather than something to simply study, this course is an invitation to reflect, question, and connect these teachings to your own lived experience. These texts ask us to look inward, to examine the nature of the mind, the self, and the way we move through the world.

Start whenever you’re ready. Move through the material at your own pace, and return to it often. Each lecture offers an opportunity to deepen your understanding, not just intellectually, but in a way that feels embodied, personal, and relevant to your life on and off the mat.

What You’ll Explore

• Key teachings from classical yoga philosophy and their modern-day relevance
• The nature of the mind, self-awareness, and inner stillness
• Concepts such as dharma (purpose), karma (action), and liberation
