Description

Before you enroll, please WATCH the course video and READ the full course description.

This course builds on Part 1 of our Yoga Dharma Talks.

Join us and explore the profound philosophical and ethical principles known as the Niyamas, which form the second limb of the eight-fold path of Yoga as described by Patanjali in the Yoga Sutras.  We invite you to explore the inner dimensions of yoga, guiding you through the principles of the Niyamas that cultivate self-discipline, self-study, and inner observances.

Throughout this course, you will have the opportunity to engage in insightful and transformative Dharma Talks. These talks will delve into each of the five Niyamas, offering a comprehensive understanding of their meaning, purpose, and practical application in our daily lives.

The Niyamas we will explore in this course are:

  1. Saucha (Purity): Dive into the concept of purity, both externally and internally. Cleansing your body, mind, and spirit, and fostering a harmonious relationship with your surroundings and self.

  2. Santosha (Contentment): Discover the art of finding contentment in the present moment. Discussing practices that can lead to a grateful and fulfilled mindset, regardless of external circumstances.

  3. Tapas (Self-Discipline): Explore the transformative power of self-discipline. Understanding techniques to ignite your inner fire, enables you to persevere on your path and overcome obstacles with resilience.

  4. Svadhyaya (Self-Study): Engage in the introspective journey of self-discovery. Observe and understand your thoughts, emotions, and behaviours, paving the way for personal growth and transformation.

  5. Ishvara Pranidhana (Surrender): Delve into the concept of surrender to a higher power. Explore how relinquishing control can lead to inner peace and a deeper connection with the divine.

This course aims to deepen your understanding and embodiment of the Niyamas. By integrating these ethical principles into your life, you will cultivate greater harmony, compassion, and spiritual growth on and off the yoga mat.

An official school-issued certificate is optional for students using the course solely for Continuing Education purposes. This is at an additional cost of $55 USD. This course qualifies for 10 CE Credits.
