Description

This 2.5 hour Workshop is designed for Yin Yoga Teachers who would like to explore how to modify their classes for Pregnancy.

During this course you will:

  1. Understand the physiological and emotional changes during pregnancy and how these changes influence your yin yoga practice across the trimesters.

  2. Learn how to safely adapt yin yoga postures, breathing practices, and relaxation techniques to support pregnant students.

  3. Recognize contraindications and common pregnancy-related conditions so you can teach with confidence and safety.

  4. Develop the skills to create a supportive, nurturing prenatal yoga environment that helps students feel safe, empowered, and connected to their bodies and babies.

The workshop begins with a theory section, where we explore the key physiological and structural changes that occur during pregnancy and how these affect movement, flexibility, breath, and relaxation. We will also discuss important safety considerations, common contraindications, and how Yin Yoga can be thoughtfully adapted to support comfort and wellbeing throughout pregnancy.

In the practical section, you will learn how to modify and adapt common Yin Yoga postures to safely accommodate pregnant bodies. This includes exploring prop use, positioning, and variations that maintain the essence of Yin while supporting stability and comfort.

The workshop concludes with a pregnancy-appropriate Yin Yoga class, allowing you to experience the practice yourself and gain inspiration for how to guide pregnant students with sensitivity and confidence.

By the end of this workshop, you will have a deeper understanding of how to safely adapt Yin Yoga practices during pregnancy and how to create a calm, supportive environment for expectant mothers in your classes.
