Description
Make Writer's Block a distant memory.
Writing for Publication is designed for both new and experienced writers who want to learn how to get their Creative Muse to help them quickly and easily write and sell magazine articles. This course evolved from my own struggles learning how to write articles for magazines.
The course includes audio/video presentations, hands-on writing, and downloadable handouts.
The lectures and videos guide you through the article writing and development process from start to finish. As a result, by the time you complete this course, you will have written an article that is ready to submit to a magazine editor for publication.
This course is designed to be self paced. It is best to complete the lectures in sequence because each lecture builds upon the previous lecture.
The course also includes editing and proofreading guidelines that will help you polish the articles you write and impress the magazine editors you work for.
You will receive a Certificate of Completion upon completion of this course.
Let's get started.
I'll meet you inside!

Instructor
Writing, word-smithing, and communicating have been passions of mine since childhood. As a result, my friends refuse to play Scrabble with me unless I am on their team. I guess that's what happens when you decide at age 12 to become a writer.
The publishing industry has fascinated me since I found a copy of Writers Digest at a local newsstand when I was in seventh grade and books are among my most prized possessions.
For more than 20 years, I've been a publications consultant and freelance writer and editor. My clients have included many high-tech Silicon Valley companies, including Apple, Hewlett-Packard, IBM, and Hitachi to name just a few. I've also written articles for local, national, and international publications and have worked as both a magazine and book editor.
My articles have appeared in InfoWorld magazine, Infants to Teens, Parents, Fit, Connecticut Woman, High Technology Careers, the Almaden Times, and several in-house corporate magazines and newsletters. I’ve also been a columnist for InfoWorld and the Reno Gazette-Journal.
Over the years, I've developed and taught writing classes for several writers groups and two university certificate programs, including a Documentation and Publication Certificate Program, which I helped develop.
When I'm not writing, I'm enjoying the company of my family, friends, and furbabies, expanding my vegetable garden, playing guitar and singing off key, dancing, or putting my multilingual abilities to the test while traveling.
