Here we have three different articles explaining what goes on throughout the hiring world. First, we find out that while almost half of all job applicants don't meet the job requirements, companies hire them anyway, as long as they seem trainable. Second, female job seekers are more likely to talk themselves out of applying for a job before starting. Third, imposter syndrome is very common and shows that, at times, we all feel like failures.

Please take some time now to compile all the necessary information for later. This means you should figure out which experiences you'll include and when they took place, and then write all this information down and keep it handy. You don't have to start writing your bullet points out yet for each entry.

Description

Have you been applying for jobs and not hearing back? Are your writing skills not well-developed? Could you use help improving your resume? Try out this short course for a free resume template, 60 minutes of live instructional content, and many other practices, tips, and tricks to make your resume stand out from the rest! My name is Taylor and I have been tutoring and teaching for over 7 years. I love sharing my knowledge with others and helping when I can. Having a good resume is ESSENTIAL for job applications, as it is the easiest way to stand out amongst all other job applicants. I have conducted job interviews myself, and while resumes are almost always required, not all of them are fully reviewed each and every time (imagine reading 30+ pages of *almost* all the same words). *Yawn* Creating a resume that uses vibrant, descriptive language is so so important! Plus, effectively describing your past jobs and positions is even more important! Employers don't want to read the same "helped run a program" or "worked at the counter" phrases - they want to hear about YOU. Most of the assignments included in this course are optional, but all are tailored around the creation and editing of YOUR own personal resume - meaning you won't have to write things that don't directly help you. Cover letter writing and interview prep to come!

Who this course is for:

  • Anyone who needs help creating a resume
  • Those who feel as though they have lots of knowledge but don’t know how to describe what they know
