Helen Hicks is a dedicated mental health professional who has spent nearly three decades making a positive impact in the field. With a deep passion for helping individuals and families navigate the complexities of mental health and parenting, she has established herself as a trusted authority in her areas of expertise.
Professional Journey: Helen's journey in the mental health field began in 1995 when she embarked on her career as a support care staff member at an adolescent group home. Her dedication and commitment soon led her to take on increasingly significant roles within the group home setting. She transitioned into the position of house therapist, where she provided vital counseling and support to residents. Over time, her contributions extended further, and she eventually assumed the role of program director, overseeing and shaping the programs that would impact the lives of countless young individuals.
Drawing from her extensive experience in group homes, residentials, In-Community services, and Crisis intervention, Helen embarked on a new chapter in her career. In 2009, she took the bold step of establishing her own private practice. Today, her private practice stands as a testament to her dedication and expertise, offering compassionate mental health counseling services to those in need.
Accolades and Recognition: Helen's unwavering commitment to her clients and her profession has not gone unnoticed. In 2022, she received esteemed recognition from Nationwide Registries as one of the Top Doctors of America for Mental Health Counseling in New Jersey. This honor speaks to her exceptional skills and contributions to the field.
In 2023, Helen achieved another milestone by re-launching her self-published parenting book, "The Parenting Treatment Plan." This book has garnered acclaim, receiving a 5-star review from Readers' Favorites, a testament to her insightful guidance on parenting and family dynamics.
Education: Helen's educational journey has equipped her with the knowledge and expertise necessary to excel in her field. She holds a Bachelor of Arts degree in Psychology from California State University, Fresno, and a Master of Arts in Counseling Psychology from National University, Fresno.
