Description
It might seem counterintuitive but parenthood is the best baptism in leadership and people management.
Why is still topic of parenthood more critical for women more than men? My answer is optimistic but still grounded in reality. We made a lot of progress in the last 10 years in some parts of the word, however the topic of parenthood is still more relevant for women.
Our focus in the Working parent identity course will be on understanding how your unique identity elements(your true essence) impact your work identity and career success. You will learn new leadership behaviours and habits and you will explore the 3 Ingredients for a balanced career: choice, clarity and courage.
Most importantly will learn and practice the assertive language of powerful women.
You benefit from an extensive Participant Guide as your learning log; it includes reflection questions and personal development exercises that will help you bring the online course information to a personal level. It will help you translate it into some clear actions for yourself. Jot downs your thoughts, your dreams and your doddles. These notes are for your eyes only. We made a lot of progress on gender balance in the 21st century, however even in the year 2022 the topic of parenthood is still more relevant for women’s career. Nobody asks a man who becomes a father, how will you cope balancing work responsibilities with having kids.
It’ s hard to erase more than 2000 years of religious segregation of gender roles from our DNA. Our focus in this chapter will be on: The diversity tree and own Identity, understanding your Cultural context and the Family Heritage and baggage, The 5 dare to dream leadership behaviours, Working identity and women's career, the 3 Ingredients for a balanced career.

Steliana is an internationally awarded author and a seasoned leadership consultant with twenty years of cross-cultural working experience in multinationals such as Shell, Vodafone, Nike and Kraft. A mother herself, she lived and worked with her young family in three different countries experiencing first-hand the pressures that society places on women, especially as they become mothers. Her personal experience fuelled her passion for researching the impact of parenting on women’s personal leadership by interviewing mothers of different cultures, professions and age groups. A selection of those life stories have been included in the ‘Mothers as Leaders‘ book and formed the inspiration for the ‘Mothers as Leaders.Dare to Dream’ development framework and the (virtual)workshop that she currently conducts in companies worldwide.
