  • Basic WordPress Setup and Free e Theme Installation4:31

    In this lecture, we will work on basic WordPress setup. We will be creating website from the scratch so we will delete all the plugins those come with the WordPress installation.
    I will not work on how to install Wordpress on hosting or domain as it is very basic step.

    Almost all the hosting service providers will give you option to install WordPress on the hosting server. You can get it installed for your website.

    If you do not have domain and hosting then you can also install WordPress locally on your desktop or laptop. I used BITNAMI WordPress package on my laptop. You

    You can install on your computer and start playing with the basics of WordPress Learning.

    We will deactivate all the themes and plugins from the basic installation.

    We will install Free theme Called as Hello Elementor. We will be using Elementor page builder to design the website. And Hello elementor is the free theme that supports this plugin.

  • Install required free plugins2:52

    All the plugins used in the course will be free to use.

    So we will not be using any paid plugin or theme.

  • Basic WordPress Website Settings1:20

    In this lecture, we will setup the Title of your website and tag line.

    In this course, we are designing one page portfolio website for Freelancer website designer.

    If you learn how this works, you can do it for any kind of business or service.

  • Creating Home page of the website1:54

    In this lecture, we will create the home page of your website. Even though this course is about one page website, you can add more pages in future.

    We will assign the newly created home page as the index page or the landing page your website.

  • Creating Main Menu for the Header1:26

    In this lecture, we will create main Menu for the header section. This menu will be used to navigate to different sections of the website on the single page.

    As of now, we will add only Home item in the menu. We will add other menu items at the end of this course, when all the sections will be ready on the website.

  • Elementor Site settings4:50

    We have created Main menu and header for the website. Now before editing the header, we will change the Elementor Site settings.

    Site settings will give you option to set the font type and font family for the website. You can also set the primary color, secondary, text color etc in the site settings.

    These site settings will remain same through out the website.

  • Editing Header section4:59

    In this lecture, we will add Logo and Main menu in the header section of the website.

    We will also make it responsive and adjust settings so that it will work properly on mobile devices also.

  • Creating Footer Section10:13

    In this lecture, we will create Footer section of the website.

    This footer section will contain the business contact details, social media icons and Contact form.

    We will add Contact form later in another lecture.

    To show contact details, we will use icon list.

Requirements

  • You will need a working computer and a web browser connected to the internet.
  • You don't need any coding experience at all.
  • You will need Wordpress installed on the domain or on your local computer. This course starts from design WordPress website. So you will need Wordpress installed.

This WordPress Web design course will teach you how to design Free WordPress website using free theme and plugins.

We are not gong to use any premium theme or paid plugins. We will design website from the scratch using Free Elementor Page builder plugin.


NOTE: This will be single page Portfolio website. However it is not limited to single page only. You can add as many pages as you require.


I am sure that you will learn many basic settings of WordPress and Elementor.


Wordpress is one of the best content management system used to design millions of websites in the World. It is very easy to understand and you can design any kind of website.


About The Couse:

In this course, I will not tell you how to install WordPress on computer or Domain. This is very basic and any one can do it.

I will start with installing free theme and free plugins to create any kind of professional website.

We will not use any paid theme or template. We will create our own template or layout for this website.

The layout will be fully customizable. You can change the layout as per your requirements.


When you design website using premium paid themes or templates, you can not really make many changes to the website layout. If you are good in coding or WordPress then you can do it. However still you will need a lot for efforts to make changes to premium themes.


So we will do it from the scratch and we will create our own layout.
