Because we used the right side of our brains, where we experience pleasure, excitement and joy. When I coach my clients, we always start off by looking at where are they now? How are they feeling right now? It forms the basis and a point of reference to measure their progress as they go through the programme.

The Power of Perception is a module that explores the ways in which your perceptions shape your experiences and impact your mental health and well-being. Through a series of exercises and discussions, you will learn how to identify and challenge your perception and cultivate more positive and empowering ways of thinking.
One of the key exercises in this module is the Alignment Line. You will learn how the concept of clarity is the cornerstone to your growth. Through this exercise, you will gain greater awareness of your own thought patterns and the building blocks of making progress.

Objective: To reflect on your life journey, the creating a collage exercise and identify key events that have shaped your perceptions.
Description: Your life story is unique and has been shaped by a variety of experiences, both positive and negative. In this course module, we will explore the origins of your perceptions by creating a timeline of your life events. This exercise will help you reflect on what experiences have shaped you and helped you to grow, and gain a deeper understanding of how your perceptions have developed over time.
Materials:
Blank paper or a journal
Coloured pens or markers
Timeline diagram (provided)
Instructions:
Set aside 2-3 hours to begin this exercise. You can finish it in your own time.
Look at the timeline download provided and use it to create an outline of your life events. Start with your birth and move forward in time, marking significant events and milestones as you go. Consider using colour as a key to create the timeline.
For each event, reflect on how it made you feel and what impact it had on your life. Write down any thoughts or feelings that come to mind.
Once you have completed your timeline, take a step back and observe it as a whole. Notice any patterns or themes that emerge. How have your perceptions been shaped by these events?
If you have a journal, consider adding your timeline to it as a visual representation of your life story. If not, keep your timeline somewhere safe where you can revisit it whenever you like.
