More about Wiretex project:

The WireTEX project focuses on recognizing the current level of technological knowledge among the younger generations in the fields of weaving, knitting, confectioning, and spinning. The identification of existing knowledge among young generations involved in HEI and VET training of textile programs is conducted in the Slovenia and Germany. The textile industry is facing digital transitions and a shortage of workers in all areas. The existing population of textile workers is aging, and the interest and participation of younger generations is low, due to the overall unattractiveness of the textile industry environment.

The WireTEX project concentrates on identifying the specific needs of the textile industry in the areas of weaving, knitting, spinning, and confectioning. It recognizes the current industry requirements in these areas, the training of workers, and expectations for new employees. It also focuses on the knowledge required for individuals to effectively and efficiently integrate into the work process.

The project aims to preserve the knowledge of experienced textile workers for future generations, addressing the gap between young workers entering the industry and the retirement of seasoned professionals. It creates a collection of video content and educational materials on textile technology, freely accessible to industry stakeholders, educational institutions, and interested individuals. The project also seeks to enhance the attractiveness and innovation of vocational education in textiles, while addressing the industry's needs and challenges.
