Domain join, creating and testing domain user and making OU share GPO40:23
We will join the domain server from the client and create and test domain users and we will make user secuirty groups and organisational units of typical departments within an organisaion and make their respective file share and set the permissions so that each member of department has modify access to their share. And use Group Policy so it can be applied on boot to users of that department. We will also create a domain admin so we can apply group policy using admin command prompt on the client and login as him to perform more tests in the next lesson. And add multiple users within already made secuirty groups so that we can demonstrate efficiency of security groups. We will also fill organisational info in active directory users and computers.
Dymanic User Shares17:39
We will be learning about dynamic user shares, user shares unique to each domain user and ones that is personal. So that each user can store their files on the server securely. The dynamic nature of it means if you configure it correctly you wiill be able to just add new domain users and they will be able to enjoy their own user share too.
Advanced Group Policy30:45
Here we will be going through more advanced group poilcy like disabling location and data collection and stopping normal users accessing command prompt and limiting what they can do in control panel and settings.

Whist allowing domain admins in the IT Organisational Unit access to control panel and settings and commnd prompt in full.

Description

Windows Server Active Directory we will be using many different tools and features here, starting with the installation of both the client and server and then the preparation so firewall off on both the client and the server, network set to private on the client and the server, correct IP settings, a nice hostname on both and pinging from each. Next we will be installing Active Directory Domain Services (AD DS) on the server and than we will promoting it to a domain controller. We will be joining the client to the server using the rename advanced tab and we will also add a domain user that can be logged onto the client with. We can be adding the organisation information in active directory of domain user accounts and even who their line manager is and their job title.

We will be applying a folder share for each user group so they will have access to their department share only and we will be thinking of the file permissions and what they should have access to given their roles.

This course will enable you to have a deep understanding of Windows Server administration and many widely used tools within windows server.
