Description

My experience of teaching thermodynamics for more than 20 years in classroom has given  me some insights of the Students psyche.I have come to the following conclusion.

Entropy is one of the most feared concepts in Thermodynamics so much so that students when asked what is that they haven't understood in Thermodynamics quickly say it is Entropy and Exergy which they found difficult to comprehend.

It has therefore been challenging to teach the concepts of Entropy and Exergy to students in classroom. This online course is an outcome of my online interaction with  my students during Covid epidemic which are now recorded and made available to not only to all my students but also to anyone interested to learn Thermodynamics across the globe.

This course in a step to step manner introduces the concept of Entropy . Entropy and molecular disorder is an interesting and many a times confused concept We will clarify this in this course  Heat transfer, and how it is related to entropy transfer is explained.Entropy generation  and irreversible process is explained lucidly   , Discovery of the property of Entropy via Clausius theorem  is an interesting discussion .Clausius inequality gives interesting insights about concept of Entropy generation Numericals on Entropy are included in this course to increase comprehension of entropy concepts.

The outcome of this course is students would appreciate and enjoy the concepts around entropy and how this concept helps improve better insights about real life Engineering problems

Who this course is for:

  • Engineering Students and Professionals
