Making sure she "sees" in your work the key elements of the images she likes. Always ask some questions along these lines. "What in the photo is it that really stands out to you? The texture? The shape? Do you like how full it is or how soft it is? The braid? The curls? The way it looks natural? These are some good key concepts to gather. Sometimes these questions get her to admit she is NOT really in love with the look but was unsure what to choose!! Now you are free to adapt and be more bespoke and creative!

Enjoy this clear demonstration of how to curl your hair three ways with one tool. If you want curls in the bottom of your half up style this video is a perfect resource for you. If you are doing curls for body and an updo prep, be sure to clip each curl after you make it. Once they are cooled, let them down and begin your hairstyle!

This video shows the process of doing coils in an updo or hairstyle. They are a lot of fun and can be adapted for different styles. Wedding looks, party hairstyles and everyday wear! No matter the thickness of hair or the varied lengths of hair, coiling is an option.

This is an excellent example of how to get good solid teasing where it matters. When you follow steps and you know where the updo is headed, stress is minimized. If the client freaks out seeing you tease you now have the confidence to continue teasing, explain the process and assure her a beautiful style is unfolding. Remember, it is more likely the anticipation of special occasion that is adding to her stress intolerance, not you or your work. Always smile and be reassuring.

Having an open mind and being willing to practice on very long hair will help when it comes to execution of the skills.
Patience, curiosity and a love of hair is all you need! Someone with the appropriate hair length as the models in this course, so you can follow along and practice your new skills! Some basic braiding skills will help, but you got this!
Watch the videos all the way through to see what you may specifically need for each course. A blow dryer, a small teasing brush/comb, a rat tail comb for making clean parts, a curling iron. Bobby pins & hair pins to match the hair color, large hair ties, small clear elastics, silver clips, and hairspray. Maybe a gel or hair wax or cream for controlling flyaway hair.
