    This video is both the introduction to the course and the materials needed to create your own piece of art. You can also open the PDF that has a list of the materials so you can purchase them online or at your local art shop as needed.

  • Supplies and Getting Your Paper Ready2:52

    I will show you the materials needed to get started painting and we will also go over how to tape your watercolor paper to get started.

  • Sketching in Your Birch Trees2:03

    We will begin sketching the birch trees that we will be painting and please feel free to sketch them anyway you like, they are your trees. I've painted this painting a number of times and each time it's a bit different. I've added a sketch JPG for you if you would like to print it out.  Remember you can pause, and replay these videos as many times as you need to get it just the way you want.

    We'll be painting our backgrounds using a wet on wet technique. Make sure to keep your painting wet

    while adding all your colors. You may want to work a bit faster for this section.
