    Hello and welcome to Autumn painting - fall leaves with watercolor!

    I know that realistic paintings can be intimidating for many watercolorists. In this course will bring the whole process together with layers, and taking your basic paintings (where many of us tending to stop) to the next level of a more realistic look.

    This class starts out for beginners but in the end we will complete a very realistic Maple leaf. I walk you through my steps so even if you are a beginner, I know you can do this one.

    Alright superstars..... we are going deep into details in this course!

  • Exploring Colors3:17

    Student will explore color inspiration. Learn to see colors with a view finder and a quick tip on how to adjust your colors using your photo on your Ipad.

  • Creating a Color Swatch5:59

    Let's create a simple Color chart with fall colors, we will cover how to create a graduated watercolor wash to create different values with our pigments

  • Adding a glaze wash over transparent colors.2:35

    Students will practice adding a glaze wash over the graduated wash. We will take a look at all the colors we can create with this process from our current color chart.

  • Wet in Wet practice5:06

    In this lecture we will create a basic shaped leaf using watercolors and a wet in wet technique by dropping in color allowing the colors to disperse.

  • Adding more layers for depth8:49

    We are going to work on glazing and learn to gain more confidence to layer with a little detail to create more realistic leaves.

  • Pen and Ink4:05

    Students will use pen and ink with a micro pen to create a light and airy leaf doodle for your cards or journaling.

  • View material list for basic supplies needed.
  • Purchase necessary tools and supplies.
  • No prior watercolor experience needed, but we will work up to a more advanced leaf in the final project.
