    For this painting you will need the following materials:

    • Watercolor paper 300 gsm or 140 lbs, cold pressed (I recommend to use 100% cotton paper);

    • Brushes (Mop Brush #0, Round Brush #4, Round Brush #1);

    • Watercolors: Ruby by White Nights (PR170), Permanent Yellow Deep by PWC (PY83), Payne's Grey by Van Gogh (PBk6, PV19), Ultramarine finest by Schmincke (PB29);

    • White Accent: Add the finishing touch with White Watercolor/Gouache or a White Pastel Pencil.

    Don't worry if you don't have the exact colors; similar ones will work too.

    I provide scans of my sketch/painting if you want to skip to the watercolor painting. This class is perfect for both intermediate learners and beginners who know a bit about mixing and using watercolors on paper.

Description

Step into the delightful world of pet painting with my new class! Whether you want to capture your cat or dog, make a special gift, or start earning through commissions, this class is your ticket to mastering watercolor animal portraits.

This class will include three animals (two bunnies and a white cat) and a few lessons with watercolor tips. We will follow simple steps to create the class project:

  1. Exercise to practice in wet-on-wet technique.

  2. Prepare a sketch.

  3. Prepare color mixes on the palette.

  4. Painting the animal.

  5. Creating textured background using table salt.

In the description of each Section of the class, you will find info about the art materials I'm using and a scan of the final painting.

This course is suitable for beginners. However, it would be essential for you to have some basic skills in painting with watercolor and mixing colors. If you are not confident in using the wet-on-wet technique, I shared a simple exercise for you to practice more.

At the end of the course, you will be able to paint a bunny or a white cat and become more confident in painting animals with watercolor.
