    Welcome to this course

  • The tools I use1:17

The tools I use for recording audio for my voice overs and screencasts, are the Samson GoMic Portable USB microphone, and Adobe Audition. In this course I will also be showing how to process your voice overs with the FREE software Audacity.

The tools I use are not needed to follow along, as the lessons in this course work with other miss, and audio software.

  • My recording set up3:04
  • My Samson GoMic & the settings I use3:08
  • My DIY Pop filter2:41

To make my pop filter, I followed a tutorial I found on Youtube, here is the link https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=_rs15oxOIec

  • Adjusting your computer audio settings1:49
  • How I process my voice in Adobe Audition (version 2)5:50
  • Automating my sound settings in Audition3:19

Once you have created the type of voice processing you like, in Adobe Audition you have the option, of creating a Favorite. Creating a Favorite in Audition is simply recording the steps you took, so you can automate your editing process.

You should probably save a Favorite for each group of recordings you do, as the sound of a room, or mic placement may change.

  • Requirements

    • For this course you'll need a mic of your choice, and sound processing software. We will be showing the lessons using the USB powered Samson GoMic, and Adobe Audition, and Audacity.

    Description

In less than an hours time, I can show you how to produce a GREAT sounding Voice Over using simple step-by-step instructions, and using tools and software that are very inexpensive! ☆☆☆☆☆ OVER 60 REVIEWS!

Have you ever wondered what voice over processing tips can make your voice sound better on a recording? Have you ever tried to listen to a video or podcast, only to find the author has recorded his voice over too low, or worse, the audio is loud and distorted, and sounds like they're talking through a kazoo?

My personal pet peeve is hearing plosives, pops, and breaths distorting the audio every time says a word starting with a P or B! At the end of the day, there's a simple reason why we have very little patience for bad audio quality in a voice over...

People will forgive a bad image, but they will not forgive bad sound.

I have been recording videos, screencasts, screen recordings, and voice overs for well over 10 years, recording for my own company, tonyteach, as well as others such as Creative Cow, Infinite Skills, and even Lynda[dot]com. During this time, through many trials and errors, playing with different audio softwares, microphones, and hardwares – I was able to develop simple voice over processing tips to produce quality audio, every single time I recorded. More importantly, I was able to do all of this without breaking the bank, and I've summed it up into a short, easy to follow, 30+ minute course

    • This course was designed with the beginner in mind, and shows simple steps to get the best voice recordings – but also has techniques for the intermediate learner.
