When talking about a video file, we need to specify its properties. We also don't talk about a car, but we specify its brand, engine, color, etc.

There're 3 important parameter everyone should know. That is the resolution, the scanning technique and the frame rate. Once we understand what those things are, we can start with editing a video inside a professional environment.

The user interface is made out of different windows. Each of them provides us with a different tool or function. We're able to move these windows around and change the work space so that it fits you the best.

The Workspace
09:03

The way you organize your media is very important. This starts on your desktop and extends to Premiere Pro.

Organize Clips
15:05

In this lecture you'll learn the exact workflow that every professional video editor uses. From selecting the right parts in your clips to utilizing the timeline in the best way possible.

The toolbox provides us with many tools to manipulate the clips inside our timeline. Such tools can go from cutting our clips to stretching the time for a slow-motion effect.

There're also tools which are not so easy to understand from the beginning, like the slide and slip tool. It's very important here to keep on practicing with these tools. By using them more and more you will notice that it will make your editing go faster.

We all love to create crazy effects, but keep in mind that Premiere Pro is a cut and slice application. Not a visual effects editor. However, Premiere Pro does provide us with a big library of video and audio effects.

Adding these effects to any of your clips is not so hard, but creating the desires end look is. In this lesson you will learn several techniques which you need to pay attention to if you want to accomplish something particular.

Video Effects
14:54

When two clips meet each other, we can either leave them as a hard cut. But we can also add a cool transition between them. Inside the effects library, we can find several transitions for video and audio.

When adding a transition you have to keep in mind it takes some frames from you clips which you've actually cut away. Therefor we can adjust the transition duration to our desired need.

Creating a text inside Premiere Pro has never been so fun as in any other editing application. The Premiere's title designer gives you so many tools that you can fully customize the look of your text.

We can even use the title designer to save our designed text or title for later use in other projects.

By default, a created title is being handled as an text Graphic inside Premiere Pro.

Text and Graphics

In Adobe Premiere Pro CC 2018 you have a new panel named Essential Graphics. With this panel you can create templates of your texts and animations. These templates can then be exported and used in different projects. We show you how you can make these templates, export them and import them.

Creating animations is one of the most exciting things in Adobe Premiere Pro. It's the core of custom editing and makes you feel like you have control over everything. From text to effect animations, anything is possible.

Custom Animations

Masking is a very common task in video editing. It helps us to create complex visuals and compositing. In this video we'll learn how to clone our-self using a mask.

When it comes down to professional video editing we must focus on details to make a video stand out. One of those steps is to do a color correction. We've all seen that somewhere, where two clips don't match with each other. One is too blue and the other one is too yellow. Or we would like to re-create that cinematic Hollywood look and increase the contrast. This lesson will teach you how to work with the Lumetri Color panel. This is an easy tool to do all your coloring work.

A bad audio mixing is very unpleasant to listen to. When you have an interview of someone and at the same time running a music song in the background, it's very important to have a good balance between them.

This lesson will help you how to mix and fade your music. But also how to bring up the volume to the correct spot.

The new Premiere pro CC 2018 has a special new panel just for Audio effects and Audio adjustments. In this lecture we will explain all the functions and possibilities you can do with the new panel. We show you how you can use the effects to perfect your audio, sound effects and music.

We're done with the edit of our video. Now comes the biggest challenge: exporting your video to a small size, while maintaining that beautiful quality.

There're many things like codecs, bitrate, etcetera we must understand to master this process. But luckily, Premiere Pro made it easy for us by allowing us to chose from a variety of very good presets.

Inside the Media Encoder, which we use to export our video, we can find the Vimeo or Youtube preset under the popular H.264 codec. By using one of these presets, you are in most cases always right.

Every program comes with tons of settings and also Premiere Pro. We don't have to know what all these settings do. But some of them will definitely help you further.

One of the things we must know about is that we can change some default duration's. Like the transition and still image duration's.

Premiere Pro also stores many cache files on your computer. If you ever end up with a full hard disk, know where you can find these files though the preferences menu. Inside the cache settings, we're able to give the cache files a new destination or delete that folder, which doesn't do any harm.
