Video Content Production: Learn How to Film and Edit Content

In this lecture we will go over the fundamentals of storytelling.

Stories have been shared in every culture. In order to write a good story we should  use a number of artistic elements. A good storyline includes a structure with beginnings, middle and end. And of course, we must also focus on characters and on our hero. All of which will translate into a storyboard for the making of our movie.

Digital storytelling allows you to share your story in the digital media in a unique perspective. 

We will talk about the ways we can translate our stories to the digital media  and the process of sharing our creative work with others, using today's new technologies such as - YouTube and Vimeo.

This is one of my favorite lectures. 

I will talk about the best cameras used in the film industry. 

We will also review some of the top lenses and the editing suites, in today's market, so if you think of buying your own gear, or even just renting for your next video shoot, you will be more educated to make a decision. 

Camera and photography basic principles. In this lecture we will be going through the concept of exposure, right from the beginning. After this lecture you'll understand the core concepts of photography.

In the previous lectures I've discussed some basic aspects of photography and lighting. In this lecture I will talk about another important piece the ISO. ISO sets the impact that light will have on our sensor. We will learn how to use ISO to produce better phonographs.

What is the correlations between frame rate and shutter speed? How does it affect us as film makers? In this lecture we will be covering the mechanism of the shutter speed and the principle of frame rate.

Aperture is one of the three main controls you can use when you shoot. Along with shutter speed and ISO, aperture controls how the light will hit the sensor of the camera. How does it relate to F-stop? How does it all affect our cinematic language? Watch this lecture and you'll will learn all about it.

What is composition? The rule of thirds as a composition guide line.

You'll learn about this powerful compositional technique and how to make the most of it to improve your skills. 

The basics solutions for sound in our productions. You'll learn about the main sound techniques used in film and I will also cover basic sound devices.

We've learned a lot so far. With all the knowledge we gained we can now start planning our schedule and shooting. All we need to do now is to learn how to set our goals in the most effective way.

Mobile phone video workshop that can suit even the most beginner film-maker with no equipment. Lets learn how we can use our smartphones to create a good short film.

What is video aesthetics and how can we add them into our work? You'll learn about shot size, depth of field, dolly movement vs. "hand held" vs. tripod and steady cam. We will talk about the usage of available light and of-course exposure, white balance and the total look of you shot.  

In the previous lectures we covered the basic aspects of lighting. After you'll see this lecture you will conclude the lighting and exposure subject.

Composition and camera movement in a glimpse. We will define these elements and show how to tell a story through the lens.

How can the camera detect a certain color and recognize its white balance. You'll learn how to take into account the color temperature.

What is the right shot size in the right moment ?

In this lecture we will be covering the various shot sizes and learn how we can use them in order to tell the right visual story. 

When going out for a shot our mission is to get the coverage. We will learn, the most efficient way to do so. We will also learn about some key film set persona's that can assist us with our goal - creating our film

Introducing the third step of any production, the post production is where all the editing work set place. The post-production includes the complete editing, color correction and the addition of music and sounds.

Introducing the Adobe Premier Pro CC. This edit suit is a great tool that assist us with bringing our project to completion.

First step in editing is logging, marking and organizing our raw material. I'll  teach you some techniques to improve your editing skills. 

Creating a first cut or an assembly is the second stage of editing our project. 

Fining down and trimming our cut into a precise montage on the timeline.

Exporting our project in the best parameters for the use in the online environment. We will talk about exporting principles, I will cover and demonstrate some of the best exporting setting in today's internet environment.
