It is difficult to say when Vastu (Sthapatya Ved) scripture was written in past. The author of the Vastu knowledge was Sri. Viswakarma Ji. The first Vastu architecture example is available in ancient city Harappa and city of Mohenjo-dado. These two cities are located at northwest of India. At present it is at boarder of India and Pakistan. Harappa city was built nearly five to six thousand years ago. The city Harappa has very few ruins left as we can see buildings. However, Mohenjo-dado city has many broken buildings are left.

Both cities were built with advance civil engineering, architecture and with building materials of that time. Both cities had manufacturing business of pears, beads and species stones. They used yo export these items to Iran, Afghanistan and some midlist countries.

In this lecture, I will discuss how vastu principles were applied. These principles were related to town planning and Vastu architecture design.

Before we build Vastu home, we need to select land and than b uy a land to design and build vastu home.

Four criteria we will discuss in this lecture regarding buying a land for Vastu home.
1. Shape of the land
2. Slope of the land
3. where in city of town we buy land meaning in what direction of the city.
4. Which angle is good out of four angles of the land
5. How to rectify uneven shape of the land
Also there are more criterias need to be considered and that we will discuss in next lecture.

This lecture is a continuation of land selection from previous lecture. In this lecture you will learn the location of the road to the land in southern hemisphere, the right direction and wrong direction of the road to the land, landscape around the land including toll  trees should be planted in which direction and should not be planted in which direction, also the water bodies like Creek river sea and water well or even man-made water structure, like fountain has a specific location according to vastu.

We will discuss about what are the right locations and a wrong location of placing each of those elements around the land and around the vaastu home.  We will also discuss about which tree you should not plant and which tree you should plant, also what are the auspicious constellation of the day at which you decide to remove the tree and you plant the trees, and last we will talk about how to Orient building to true north in a northern hemisphere and same method we use to align with a Solaris star in this southern hemisphere, so there are three methods we will discuss and you can choose which one is right for your area, your location of the city and what is available and then you can plan accordingly.

This is lecture #5, and the title is how to design vastu home? We are going to discuss in this lecture, about how we connect dweller, dwelling and cosmos, we also will discuss about 9 planets and 28 constellations which are located in the cosmic diagram, which is called vastu purusha mandala, We will also talk about how the cosmic diagram created, for example the elements which we include designing a the cosmic plan is prana line, Marma points, constellations, location of planets and 81 sectors or 81 padas. These are all in relation to the orientation  with the directions and proper locations.

We will also talk about how you connect cosmos with a second floor, first floor and the ground. How you connect all the Brahmasthan to cosmos and Brahmasthan to the ground. This is called the center of the house later on in other lecture we will show you that how you create openness adds to the Brahmasthan, by building design or the house to design so that you can see that the cosmic consciousness is breathing it's a vital source between cosmos through the building, through the Brahmasthan into the earth, and this is what I really would like to show you so that you feel that it is not just designing a building a house but we are designing here the vital connection between you as a dweller or your client is a dweller the Vastu home and the energy of cosmos with the nine planets and 28 constellation.

You will learn in this lecture about types of Marma points you will find in vastu purusha mandala or cosmic diagram Marma points are at the junction of prana lines so is the joints of bones in human skeleton also called marma points in Ayurved. you can see the simile between vastu purush mandala or cosmic diagram and structure of human skeleton.
