Here is the list of tools and materials you will need:
watercolor paper
water-resistant drawliners

Here I talk on perspective, different types of lines and building a composition without a pencil. I also make a quick sketch to demonstrate. I put the reference photo for download.
The process of drawing textures is the most fun for me because it is so easy. This lecture includes tips on drawing brick, stone, wood, roof tile and foliage.
Here I demonstrate the first part of sketching process. I put the reference image for download.
This lecture includes tips on making choices on the ratio of water, laying shades and shadows. I also fill my quick sketch with color to demonstrate. I put the reference photo for download.
Here I demonstrate the second part of sketching process. I put the reference image for download.
Draw a sketch based on a photo or a real scene. Try to emphasize at least one of those things:
good-looking patterns
nice color sceme
interesting composition
- feel free to use pencil for insurance, choose your own type of lines, change the colors if necessary
Share you sketch in the ‘Assignment’ section, comment on what choices you have been making, what new features you may have added.
- if you based your sketch on a photo, share it as well for it is so fun to see each person’s own view
This short course is focused on urban sketching with ink and watercolor.
- such sketches can be turned into postcards, prints and illustrations
The course will give you some tips on:
choosing an interesting scene to sketch
drawing patterns such as bricks or foliage the easy way
draw without unwanted line intersections
using water and color combination wisely
In this course I will also demonstrate the sketching process itself.
As for the assignment, I will ask you to sketch using my tips but also in style that you’re comfortable with.
This course is geared towards beginners and sketch enthusiasts because everyone can decide on their own level of precision and detailization to sketch.
If you have any additional questions after taking this course, please, ask me, I'll gladly answer.
