Create a car racing game in Unreal Engine 5 from scratch, importing and rigging a drivable car, texturing for hyper realism, and implementing timers, checkpoints, finish lines, and world building.
Create an Unreal Engine vehicle project, import and rig a Blender Porsche 911 car, source a model from Sketchfab, and export as FBX for Unreal with UE4 vehicle rigging addon.
Learn to make a drivable car in Unreal Engine 5 by importing a skeletal mesh, enabling Chaos vehicle, creating a car blueprint, and configuring wheels, physics, and input controls.
Configure and texture a drivable car in Unreal Engine 5 by enabling wheel animation via an animation blueprint and adjusting physics. Apply automotive materials for realistic paints, rims, and glass.
Explore unreal engine 5 by creating a car racing game with a checkpoint and finish line system, blueprints, box collision triggers, and checkpoint crossed and you won UI.
Learn to implement a timer system in Unreal Engine 5 for a car racing game by starting a timer, handling win/lose events, and displaying time remaining.
Master Unreal Engine 5 world creation for a car racing game by building a landscape and roads with cubes or splines, and applying Quixel asphalt materials.
Create and place checkpoint boards in Unreal Engine 5, apply megascans textures, adjust tiling and rotation, and enable collision to guide players from checkpoint to finish.
Place pre-made city buildings from the asset pack and adjust lighting with directional sun. Refine visuals with post-process exposure, tiling, and material tweaks for a convincing city driving scene.
Create a park in Unreal Engine 5 by placing fences, duplicating them, hiding buildings, and painting varied Megascans foliage and European hornbeam trees with density, scale, lighting, and NPC cars.
Import and place street lights, traffic lights, signs, and trees in Unreal Engine 5 for a car racing game; use Blender and FBX export to texture and light the scene.
Create a speedometer widget that displays the player's mph speed via binding, using absolute value for nonnegative results, add NPC cars as obstacles, and include a countdown and restart button.
Add NPC cars with city sample vehicles, place them on the track, refine collision and physics, and implement a countdown timer for the race in Unreal Engine 5.
Add a ready and go countdown UI, wire start and countdown events, and implement a restart button with a visible cursor; polish road texture, car color, and lighting.
Package the Unreal Engine game for distribution by building, cooking a vehicle example map, and creating a custom project launcher profile to produce a runnable Windows executable.
Unreal Engine 5 is very high in demand right now but learning it can be a little intimidating for beginners, which is why I made this course to show you guys how to make a hyper realistic car racing game from scratch in Unreal Engine 5!
This is a project based course and we will be covering all aspects of making a racing game including rigging the car (in Blender 3D), making it drivable in Unreal Engine, texturing it, creating a timer and checkpoint system to make the game interesting, creating a whole city environment with realistic roads, buildings, street lights, trees, and a lot more!
This course should be relatively easy for most Unreal beginners however some experience would be helpful. The good thing about this course is that this course will show you the raw process of a game developer in creating games. We will be solving all problems and making all creative decisions together!
So what are you waiting for? Just start this course today and take your Unreal skills to a whole new level!
Project:
The project is quite simple! You need to first watch the whole course and then make your own game set in your city! You can either use the same 3D models which I used, or you could use others! You must use all the techniques and skills taught in the class to make sure that you are actually learning something new! You get extra points if you model the car and buildings yourself too because that will really enhance your modelling skills as well!
Be sure to change things up by using your own unique colors and lighting setups!
Good luck!
