Description

In this course, Developing Adaptive Fashion 2 - Universal Design, we will continue through the process of actually developing adaptive fashion. This course focuses specifically on developing adaptive fashion through universal design. While this course is geared towards designers, technical designers, product developers, and production managers, learning what goes into developing adaptive fashion will also benefit merchandisers, buyers, e-commerce specialists, marketing teams, company executives, and more. The prerequisites for this course are:

  • Course 1: Introduction to Adaptive Fashion

  • Course 2: History of Adaptive Fashion

  • Course 3: Importance of Disability Inclusion in Fashion

  • Course 4: Adaptive Fashion Customer Deep Dive

  • Course 5: Adaptive Fashion Market Overview

  • Course 6: Developing Adaptive Fashion 1 - Adaptive Design

Lecture 1 of this course provides a brief instructor and course introduction. Lecture 2 will introduce you to universal design and compare the benefits and challenges. In lecture 3, you will learn the two product development paths for universally designed fashion. In the next lecture, we will cover the considerations to take into account when using universal design to create products. In lecture 5, we will take a look at universal design features in performance wear. Wrapping up this course, the founder of MIGA Swimwear, María Luisa Mendiola, shares her experience developing a universally designed swimwear brand in lecture 6.
