This is an introduction to the class and overview from our Pastor. After viewing this overview students will understand the purpose of this course and a general message from the leader of Unity Church.
Build a lasting christian leadership foundation rooted in biblical knowledge and Bible study, then explore leadership, followership, evaluation, and case studies to grow the kingdom of God.
We asked Pastors from around the nation two questions: One, what message would you give to up and coming people of God looking to fulfill their role in leadership? Two, what are some road bumps you ran into, that you would pass alone, to help leaders be prepared for? These are some of their responses to these questions.
Explore the differences between leadership, followership, and management within a Christian context, and learn how to navigate and adjust between styles to effectively deliver God’s word.
Evaluate your leadership through self-evaluation and reflection on progress, ensure decisions help others reach their goals, and address unconscious biases with adaptability and feedback.
Leadership has been tossed around so much in today's age as almost a crutch word to garner participation and encourage interaction. Due to this, you may be wondering why another leadership course is necessary. Leadership varies from culture to culture and in this course we intend to bridge the gap between leadership and Christianity. This course is designed to help Christian leaders be better equipped to take on the wide variety of challenges and opportunities encountered in leadership and ministry. Understanding and analyzing the lessons in the text from and honest, unbias prospective; while also respecting the importance of worldviews from others, is a key outcome of this course. We must strive to better develop those assigned to our care so that we can build up the Kingdom of God. Students will be led through the foundational aspects and implications of biblical knowledge and leadership. They are then encouraged to explore and reflect on the many dimensions that encompasses Christian leadership. They will be challenged to apply what they have learned to their own areas of service to God and His people. Furthermore, they are then encouraged to take the message that they received from this course beyond the walls of the church, regardless of size. It's all about sharing the message and putting their learning to action.
