Description

This course is designed especially for the Science Enthusiasts & Research Aspirants. The course begins by answering a very simple, yet very important, question i.e. "What is a Physical Quantity?" and also briefs on various measurement techniques such as the Parallax method. The course talks about the SI Unit System which is the commonly accepted unit system among Researchers all across the globe.

The Course covers topics like The Parallax Method and its uses in astronomy for the measurement of very large distances like the distance to any star, distance to any planet or to the sun, sizes of the planets, etc. We also brief about the various units of measurement of length like the light year, astronomical unit & the parsec. The course also covers various scientific techniques for the measurement of Mass and Time.

In this course, we also understand the deep meaning of plane angle and solid angles and their units of measurement i.e. Degree, Minute, Second & Radian. We also look at the conversion factor between these units of measurement of plane angle.

The course also covers very important topics from Error Analysis. the course includes topics like Accuracy of a measurement, Precision of an Instrument and the Error in measurements. We also look at various types of errors like the systematic errors, the random errors & the least count error. We also look at how these errors propagate from one physical quantity to another in a mathematical operation.
The course also teaches you, how to tackle these errors that arise in your experiment and the techniques to identify, reduce and control these errors which is the most essential part for any researcher or experimentalist.
The course also gives a brief idea about the Dimensions of a physical quantity, the Dimensional Analysis and its applications in finding the homogeneity of any equation, in finding relation between related physical quantities and in finding the conversion factor between various systems of units.
The course also covers as many as 33 numerical problems solved.
