ISO 55000 is an internationally-recognized standard for Asset Management. It addresses the strategic and tactical management of assets, with an emphasis on value derived from assets and the management of risk. As of year-end 2020, over 300 organizations internationally have formally implemented ISO 55000, and have seen both operational and financial improvements due to the concepts promulgated in the standard.
ISO 55000 does not directly address engineering and maintenance processes and practices. It is focused on understanding how your assets support your corporate strategy, goals and objectives. It is also descriptive, not prescriptive – it describes what you need to do, but gives you full leeway to determine how.
This course provides an introduction to the ISO 55000 international Asset Management series of standards. It is intended for all levels in the organization, from line managers and subject matter experts to executives, in any organization that is looking into whether ISO 55000 is something they might want to pursue.
