An overview of the Major Arcana tarot cards and the story contained within this series of cards. Beginning with card 0, The Fool, we explore the remaining 21 cards from The Magician to The World. These 21 cards can be divided into 3 distinct lines of 7 cards and each of the lines has its own theme, which is as follows:

• LINE ONE - The Self / Personal Awareness

• LINE TWO - The Collective / Personal Influence

• LINE THREE - The Cosmic / Personal Evolution

As we travel through each card in the Major Arcana, we follow our protagonist, the Fool. He is on a hero's journey from innocence to experience. In this lecture, we will look at the energies represented by the Fool, which is card zero and represents the potential before the adventure begins.

The First Line, which includes Major Arcana cards 1-7 (The Magician through The Chariot), can be seen as representing the process of ego development and the desire to understand the Self through external achievements, relationships, and participation in society

The second line of Major Arcana cards 8 -14 (Strength to Temperance) places focus on the individual’s inner world. This is a time of questioning and inner searching. Here the individual gets a sense of who they are and of what drives them.

Discovering Line Three of the Major Arcana, from The Devil to the World. The final line becomes more spiritual, less clearly grounded in the world we live in and more concerned with our evolution on a cosmic scale. These cards feel larger than life, broad and deep: they push us to consider how we embrace transformation, the times that we allow ourselves to grow in response to our experiences.

Minor Arcana means 'little secrets', and in this lesson, we will explore the differences between the major and minor arcana and what minor arcana cards represent in a tarot reading.

An introduction to the Swords suit of the minor arcana. The Swords are associated with the element of air and this corresponds with thought processes, communication and mental health.

In this chapter we will learn how to make connections between tarot cards, beginning with linking simple pairs. Attached to this chapter is a PDF featuring several complex tarot spreads for you to use for yourself and others as your confidence develops.

Start tarot reading with some simple three card spreads. In this chapter, we will take a look at example three card spreads, and you will have the opportunity to do a variety of simple tarot spreads for yourself to expand your tarot reading skills.
