Create a rocket logo using circles and squares, then add drop shadows and other easy-to-use extras. See how drop shadows work in this intro project.
Start a new document in affinity designer for iPad, set the iPad size, and create a rocket shape from ellipses using two-finger copies and boolean intersect and subtract.
Divide a rocket into two parts using geometry and subtraction, combining shapes and an ellipse to create clean color sections, and try multiple colors.
Create a rounded rectangle background behind the rocket, fill with color, adjust corner radius, rotate the rocket, and use a shadow plus a white fill and stroke for separation.
Design a courier logo using squares and circles, built from scratch in this final project.
Create a basic delivery van icon in a new document by combining ellipse and rectangle shapes, using geometry to unite and subtract, and cutting wheels with donuts.
Use the node tool to adjust the nodes and their curvature, then round corners with the corner tool to refine a custom shape by moving points.
Create zippy speed lines in Affinity Designer on iPad by enabling snapping, duplicating and aligning shapes, rotating, and dividing objects for clean, connected designs.
Group the van and parts, change colors for the whole set, add a background shape behind the group, and duplicate and scale copies to test color variations for the client.
Learn to draw and edit lines, curves, nodes, and handles using the pen tool, pencil tool, and node manipulation tool to control strokes.
master the basic pen tool to draw strokes and shapes, adjust fill and stroke colors, and fine-tune stroke width by moving individual nodes with the node tool.
Learn to create curves with the pen tool by clicking point to point, adjust points with the node tool, and shape bezier handles to round and bend lines.
Use the pen and node tools to create curves; converting a node adds handles on both sides to shape the curve, and deleting handles straightens lines for an s shape.
Master breaking and shaping bezier handles in Affinity Designer on iPad, using finger-down techniques to create curved or straight segments, reset with the smart option, and leverage the curvature tool.
Master click-drag drawing to create curves with automatic handles and refine shapes by moving nodes with the node tool to adjust heads and tails.
Explore curve control with the pen tool and modifiers, using one finger to add or remove handles, and four fingers to move points and twist by 45-degree increments.
Redraw a violin from a stock photo, explore lines and curves, adjust colors, blend the background image, and add side text to design a poster for a classical punk concert.
Create a poster document for commercial printing by setting a 1 meter by 1 meter canvas, selecting a print-ready color profile, and adding a 3 mm bleed.
Import an image from stock libraries such as Pixabay or Pexels, or use your photo; place, scale proportionally, and rotate to align the violin vertically for tracing in Affinity Designer.
Lock the layer in Affinity Designer and adjust its opacity via the layers panel using the three dots for layer options to prevent edits and keep the image in place.
