This course is your first essential step into the beautiful world of the Ukrainian language. It is designed to give you the fundamentals - the building blocks of reading, pronunciation, and basic communication - so you can start using Ukrainian right away with confidence.
You will learn the Ukrainian ABC, the sounds of the language, key vocabulary, and useful everyday expressions that will help you feel the rhythm and emotions of the language - not just understand it.
This is not just a theoretical course - it`s an immersive, beginner-friendly experience that brings Ukrainian to life.

In this lesson, students are introduced to the Ukrainian alphabet.
Each letter is presented with a pronunciation guide using English-style transcription
(for example: Б = [beh], Д = [deh])
to help begginers associate sounds with familiar English equivalents.
Learners also practice reading simple words with English transliterations to build confidence in sound-letter connections.
This part of the course focuses on how some Ukrainian vowels (і, я, ю, є, ї) naturally soften the consonants before them.
Students also learn the role of the soft sign (Ь), which softens the preceding consonant without adding its own sound.
Finally, we explain how the apostrophe (`) is used to prevent softening, keeping certain consonants hard in pronunciation.
In this lesson, you will put your new knowledge of the Ukrainian alphabet and pronunciation into practice by reading simple Ukrainian words. These words are carefully selected to reinforce your understanding of individual letters and letter combinations. You will see the Ukrainian word, its English transcription, and hear the correct pronunciation.
