How much does Steam take in revenue?
As you might have heard, Steam takes a part of the earnings from your game every month.
First, you must pay $100 to post your game on Steam. The $100 will be refunded to you once your game gains $1000 in revenue, which is very easy to get. Farmtale made $40,000 with no marketing at all.
Once you start gaining income, Steam will take 30% of the revenue monthly. That means if you gain $500 from sales, you'll gain $350 sent to your bank account, while Steam takes $150. Yes, Steam takes much money from you, but we can't do anything about it. After all, they provide the largest platform for games and developers. You would lose more money if you don't publish on Steam.
Don't worry. This Unreal Engine course will show you step-by-step how to publish a game on Steam. I will buy the license with you for $100 in the course to show you the whole process, literally. At the end of the course, you'll know how to get your game on Steam and make it public so that you can gain income from it.
