TV news reporting is one of the most glamorous jobs in journalism, offering you the chance to witness history first-hand and to rub shoulders with those who create it.
It can be a genuinely exciting profession which could see you covering a terrorist attack one week and reporting on a war the next. In fact, it’s one of the few jobs in the world which makes you feel privileged and honoured to be doing it.
However, TV news reporting is also demanding, tiring, high-pressured and it carries a huge weight of responsibility.
This course will teach you what mindset you need to be the next John Simpson or Laura Kuenssberg. It will also teach you the editorial and technical skills you need to succeed in this most high-profile yet demanding of jobs.
This course would be suitable for anybody looking to break into TV news with a traditional local, national or international broadcaster. It would also be suitable for anybody who would like to make professional videos for their websites or social media pages.
The most important requirements for this course are a love of current affairs, a positive attitude, a willingness to learn, and good English language ability. Everything else can be taught and developed. This course would be suitable for complete beginners right through to those who are already journalists but want to update their skills.
