In this module I will guide you on a journey to find openness in your voice. In the introduction video we will look at the anatomy of what is called in vocal pedagogy an “open throat” and a few awareness exercises. “Open throat” creates the foundation for opening your vocal range in a healthy way and finding balanced resonance in your voice as well as having ease and flow of singing.
I’d like you all to stay safe and peaceful so I’m bringing your awareness to few things. Please, watch the video about contraindications before doing the exercises.
I’m going to mindfully guide you through few exercises, voice meditation that will bring more spaciousness, openness, and expansion in your voice. The meditative nature of the exercises can bring you into the state of presence.

In this module, you are going to
understand how our vocal folds work and how it influences the sounds of our voices,
recognise if you have any unhelpful habits in your voice such as too much breath or too much pressure in your focal folds,
learn exercises to remedy unhelpful habits,
learn how can you find balance in your voice and use your vocal folds freely,
reflect on the therapeutic aspect of your voice habits.

My Story/Journey
Since I was a little girl, I loved singing. At the age of 7, I started singing lessons and continued for 6 years. I’ve been part of choirs and performed around the world. From the age of 6, I was on stage, facing a lot of pressure to perform. As an adult, I still didn’t understand my voice or myself. I often used my voice in unhealthy ways, burdened by the conditioning and performance pressure I grew up with.
At some point in my life, I lost my voice. I couldn’t eat or drink properly, the nerves in my face were inflamed, and I couldn’t sing. I stopped working for months because I couldn’t talk properly.I went to many doctors and was diagnosed with an incurable nerve condition (trigeminal neuralgia) and TMJ. It was heartbreaking because I loved singing and teaching.
In the midst of this darkness and feeling lost, I continued searching. I tended to my voice more and more, drawing on my own source of energy. I filled my body with my own soul through my voice, listening to it, singing what I needed to sing, and feeling what I needed to feel. Holistic voice training provided the foundation to understand my voice and my body. I took my healing your journey in my own hands. I tuned into the healing powers of my voice and I can guide you on your journey too.
