This lecture focuses on longer cycles. The 18.6 year cycle of the North Node through the 12 zodiac signs correlates to economic strength and weakness and to financial crises. The 19.86 year cycle of heliocentric Jupiter and Saturn going from one conjunction to the next defines market activity and helps the investor identify times when caution must be exercised. In our cosmos there are 7 stars visible to the human eye within the star cluster known as the Pleiades. These 7 Sisters are located at 4 degrees of Taurus. The brightest star in our sky is the Dog Star - Sirius. This star (located at 20 degrees Gemini) has a long reputation as being significant - going all the way back to ancient Egypt. When heliocentric Venus makes a 0 degree conjunction to either of these locations, human emotion responds and the financial markets react.

Biblical prophecy in the books of the Torah reference a 7 year cycle. When one applies this cycle to the financial markets, one sees that every 7 years there is a major theme that dominates the market. From the Mexican peso crisis to the tech bubble to the sub-prime mortgage crisis, Shemitah 7 year cycles are powerful events. In addition, there are several key dates each year in the Hebrew calendar that often align to inflection points on the markets in a cyclical fashion. Lastly, the Hebrew Alef-Bet comprises 22 characters. When each is assigned a numeric value and when ratios of these numbers are examined, a pattern emerges. When this pattern is examined through the cyclic motion of heliocentric Venus and Mars, the markets take on a whole new appearance for traders and investors. 

In the 1920s, an individual calling himself Prof. Weston applied the mathematical techniques of French mathematician Joseph Fourier to price data from the Dow Jones Industrial Average. Weston was able to calculate that this Dow data was actually made up of 28 month, 20 month, 14 month, and 10 month cycles that started at various times of the Gann Master Cycle.  Here and now in 2020-2022, 100 years after Weston, these cyclical intervals can still be seen to work. 

From our vantage point on Earth, we see the Moon orbit the Earth in 29.5 days. The Moon exerts a gravitational force on Earth powerful enough to move tides in the oceans. It is very likely the Moon also exerts a pull on the water in our body tissues causing changes to our emotions of fear and greed. There are certain times in a lunar cycle when one will often witness a swing high or low on the equity market or on a commodity future. These times align to Moon at minimum, zero, or maximum declination. Also, in a lunar cycle the day when Moon passes Sirius (Dog Star) at 14 Cancer is key to watch as well.

In the early 1970s, NASA engineer J.M. Hurst applied computer technology to refining the 1920s work of Prof. Weston. Hurst determined that he was able to use his algorithm to identify the dominant cycles that influence price action on indices and commodities. In the late 1990s, a German high court judge named Theodor Landscheidt developed a strong interest in astronomy and solar physics. He realized that the solar system had a center of mass and that massive planet Jupiter played a key role in where the center of mass was. He further realized that the Sun's shape is slowly evolving because it is not a solid object. NASA Jet Propulsion Labs has now figured out the movement of the center of mass. Knowing how much the center of mass moves in a year allows one to determine the smaller harmonic intervals of the movement. Applying these intervals to the equity market yields some stunning insights!
