The process of remembrance occurs in three stages - 1. Registration, 2. Retention, 3. Recollection
Whenever you learn a new information, you remember it only, when this new information gets associated, connected or linked with something which you already know. Inside your memory their is a web of presorted information, every new information needs association or a link to find it's place inside your memory.
We mainly register any new information either by listening, seeing or by experiencing at physical level. Whichever thing we learn by listening it gets registered in our ear memory, whichever information we learn by seeing it gets registered in our eye memory and the information we learn such as some skills by doing it practically gets registered in our motor memory. The strongest being motor memory. Ear memory being least strong and eye memory approximately 20 times stronger than ear memory.
Their are two ways of doing a thing, either by hard work or smart work. Smart work needs skill and tools. An untrained memory uses conventional method of remembering by learning, comprehending, writing note, repeating, However, this method is not that scientific. Again, our natural memory system has some limitations. We can remember only 5 to 7 randomly given information at one go, not more than that.
If we use Mnemonics along with our natural memory system we can remember large piece of information with much accuracy in less time. Dictionary meaning of mnemonics is artificial aid to natural memory.
Natural memory system + Mnemonics = Super Memory
