Proper breathing is essential during exercise. Your heart beats faster and your working muscles require much more oxygen when you are exercising. If you're a beginner, you may find it difficult to focus on your breathing along with the movements and posture. To improve your breathing technique and get the most out of your workouts always exhale on exertion. For example, when you are doing a squat, you inhale on the way down and exhale on the way up. When you are pushing a bench press off your chest, you exhale on the push and inhale as you bring it slowly to your chest.
Stretching after a workout helps to reduce muscle fatigue. When you stretch after a workout, your muscles are warm and you benefit from increased blood circulation. Stretching can help improve flexibility, and, consequently, range of motion about your joints. Stretching is good for circulation, reduces stress and increases range of motion.
