Course content

1 section17 lectures6h 40m total length
  • Introduction4:17

Explore torso anatomy by building muscles over the skeleton, studying front, back, and side muscles across male, female, and stylized torsos, with practice and reference material from anatomy for sculptors.

  • Overall torso shapes26:26

Learn torso anatomy from side and front views, focusing on the spine’s s-curve, clavicle and scapula landmarks, and key muscles like pecs, traps, lats, and external obliques for sculpting.

  • Muscles over skeleton part 0125:49

Discover torso anatomy by examining the pectoralis major, trapezius, latissimus dorsi, and erector spinae, and how their attachment points move two points together.

  • Muscles over skeleton part 0235:22

Explore torso anatomy in the torso anatomy exercises course by identifying major muscles such as external obliques, serratus anterior, latissimus dorsi, teres major, and trapezius, with practical sculpting cues.

  • Stylized male torso23:12

Sculpt a stylized male torso in Blender, combining anatomy knowledge with clean geometry to emphasize the clavicle, latissimus dorsi, serratus, external obliques, and the ribcage.

  • Making a female torso33:22

Learn to sculpt a female torso with lean muscles, subtle fat pads, and balanced proportions. Emphasize the ribcage, clavicle, scapula, and breasts to achieve a gentle, realistic silhouette.

  • Planes of the torso exercise24:58

Explore planes of the torso by building a regular male body, defining traps, scapula, clavicle, latissimus dorsi, external obliques, serratus anterior, and abdominal lines for stylized anatomy.

  • Stylized female torso24:04

Create a stylized female torso by focusing on the clavicle, rib cage, scapula, pelvis, and breasts, using fat pads and bony landmarks to preserve femininity, gentleness, and rounded forms.

  • Stylized male torso again22:46

Explore stylized male torso design, anatomy details from traps to abs, clavicle and scapula influence, with AI references, modeling tips, and geometry adjustments for a 3D torso.

  • Muscular stylized male torso24:27

Learn how clavicle position changes with posture in a muscular stylized male torso and how latissimus dorsi, teres major, erector spinae, serratus anterior, and external obliques shape ribcage and pelvis.

  • Average male torso33:49

Analyze the average male torso through clavicle, ribcage, and abdominal anatomy using Jay Cutler as inspiration, emphasizing symmetry, back and front proportions, and essential muscles for realistic three-dimensional modeling.

  • Super muscular torso31:50

Study a Jay Cutler–inspired mass monster torso, analyzing lats, traps, chest, and abs, while exploring ribcage anatomy, pose dynamics, and classic bodybuilder eras from Arnold to Dorian Yates.

  • Obese torso19:17

Explore realistic obese torso modeling by sculpting chest fat, armpit fat, and pelvic creases, accounting for gravity, fat pads, and anatomical limits while refining back and limb proportions.

  • Monster-Zombie torso20:55

Create a monster zombie torso focusing on exposed bones and skin shrinkage, highlighting the ribcage, clavicle, scapula, sternum, and visible vertebrae.

  • Lifting arms torso stages26:02

Explore building a normal male torso, from elongating the ribcage and chest to lifting arms and tracking scapula movement, clavicle and sternocleidomastoid positioning.

  • Last female torso20:48

Explore female torso anatomy for sculpting: balance ribcage to pelvis, position breasts with gravity, and refine shoulders, deltoids, and traps using reference-driven techniques.

  • Goodbye3:15

this farewell lecture on torso anatomy exercises covers male and female bodies and directs learners to female anatomy for artists and superhuman anatomy for artists, YouTube channels and Discord.

Requirements

  • The course can be practiced with pen and paper, photoshop, Blender

Description

This is a course for torso anatomy. Drawing it or sculpting.

Muscles, forms, shapes, fat and bones - i explain it all in this course.

My name is Niko and i am a 3D character artist with over 15 years of experience in the game industry, sculpting numerous characters for games. I am also a teacher and educator with over 30 000 students in my video courses for Anatomy, Blender, Zbrush and 3D character creation.

I also have two youtube channels - Speedchar and Speedchar live.

In the course we will start with the overall shape of the human torso, then we will put all important muscles of the torso on their bones in the skeleton which i provide with the Project files. After, we will do lots of torsos, including super muscular, stylized, torso from planes, female torso, fat torso and even zombie/monster torso.

You can follow this course with pen and paper, since its just anatomy course. But the best result you will get if you use a sculpting program like Blender, Zbrush or Nomad sculpt.

At the end of this course you should have much clearer picture of the shapes that makes a beliavable torso. Especially if you practice each exercise with me.

So if you don't mind, lets start learning anatomy! :)

Who this course is for:

  • Anatomy enthusiasts wanting to improve their torso knowledge
