  • 1a: Self-Growth, Flexibility and Towards or Away6:35

Self-Growth, Flexibility and Towards or Away

Let’s do this! We kick off by briefly exploring self-growth and the attitude of flexibility. This is very important to set the foundation for this entire course.

We look at how the notion of 'towards moves' and 'away moves' can help us here too.

Then in the next section we go over The Life Areas Tool.

  • 1b: The Life Areas Tool7:11

    The Life Areas Tool

The Life Areas Tool gives us the foundations of

    1) what is deeply important to us and,

    2) where the imbalances are.

Then, we can take effective committed action to enrich our lives even more.

  • BONUS: Choosing Personal Qualities5:54

When we feel out of touch or out of balance in life, The Life Areas Tool can help us get aligned with some of the life areas that may have been neglected lately.

    But where to from there?

Sometimes it can be helpful to have a list of personal qualities to reflect upon. The ones we are drawn to can then be brought into a particular life area of your choosing.

For instance, Dave could see that the life area of 'friends' hasn't been getting much energy lately AND it is of importance to him. He goes through a list of personal qualities and is then inspired to bring into this life area, the personal qualities of 'flexibility', 'compassion' and 'kindness'.

    So:

Step 1: Find which important LAs need nurturing

Step 2: Choose some personal qualities to bring to these

    Step 3: Take action!

Enjoy these two reflective practices that I've included for you. These were played on The Daily Insight at Insight Timer to thousands of people and touched a lot of people's hearts.

    RESOURCES:

    1. Choosing Personal Qualities AUDIO GUIDED PRACTICE

This brief reflective practice has just one small list of personal qualities

    2. Choosing Personal Qualities AUDIO EXTENDED GUIDED PRACTICE

This reflective practice is has 3 lists of personal qualities. Also, please note the formal mindfulness practice in the middle. This is to practice the art of getting grounded, weaving this skill in to a reflective practice of such a length is very effective. This will make more sense when you explore The Mindfulness Triangle and how to teach it in Section 8 and 9.

Description

Something attracted you to this title?

What was that?

Was it about enhancing meaningful connection, was it about being more aware?

Was it about getting more of a balance in your life with those things that you care about?

Maybe it was about having tips and tools to unhook from unhelpful thoughts, or make space for unwanted feelings so we can continue to move forward and do things that are important to us, despite this.

So, this course is designed to help us, be more grounded and connected, as well as enrich certain aspects of our lives. This is certainly what self-growth is about.

BUT...

...it also helps us for the times when things are not okay, for when we slip up and take regretful action. Or for when times are tough. It helps us be okay, with not being okay.

And this is where the flexible mindset comes in.

The tools within this course have been tried and tested to thousands of people, and you’ll be learning about these as well as the body of science as to where they’ve come from.

But… there’s another bonus here as well. With regards to my tagline Be Part of the Change. This is about how you can make a difference in other people’s lives too.

Here’s what goodies we get:

- a framework to help get clear on our heart's desires

- tools for when things get tough

- tools to help us unhook from unhelpful thoughts and realign

- tools to overcome barriers that steer us away from what we really want

- a simple fail-proof ritual to boost intention and stay on track, AND

- a bonus 2 session micro-course on The Mindfulness Triangle and how to teach it

Let's do this together and we can be part of the change.

Who this course is for:

  • Those interested in self-growth.
  • Those interested in bringing a flexible mindset to life.
