This first lecture is an introduction to the instructor, Parker Pierce, and to what you will be learning in this course.
In this section you will learn to make a grid for your pixel tiles so you know what size each tile will be and how to make sure your tiles stay within the bounds of your grid. This also makes it easy to mix and match tiles you have made to see how they look together. example is in the resource files
In this section you will learn how to sketch your tiles before hand and the importance overall of sketching your tiles before you start making the finished product. In the resource files is a downloadable example.
in this lesson you will learn to make 2 x 2 tiles and also how to make variable size (repeatable) tiles
In this lesson we observe tiles from successful games to see how they are all different and what makes them strong examples. examples are in resource files
In this outro you get a re cap of what you have learned from this course.
In this course you will learn from Parker Pierce, a free lance animator and pixel artist. You will learn to build pixel tilesets for level design in game development. You will learn to build your grid, sketch your tiles, and then make several different sizes and types of tiles that work and flow together. There is also a section on observation where you will be looking at tilesets from successful video games that use pixel art to see what can be learned from them and how you can apply it.
