The most important question should always be this: "Who am I?"
Most people think they know who they are, but when I ask very specific questions about their values, their beliefs that match their actions and their behavior, they just freeze. So how will you sell yourself if you don't know what you are selling? If you might not even believe in what you are selling?
There should not be any CV writing before you have the slightest clue about what you want, why you want it, and who you are.
Do not worry about design, wording, details. Just focus on collecting the relevant information that matches the job requirement.
Whenever you go on a date, you do not hand over a copy-paste collection of who you are, your interests, your goals, but you answer the questions the other person is asking from you, right? If you send the same CV over and over again to multiple companies, what does that say about you?
If you don't even put in the slightest effort to tailor it, to answer their questions about yourself, why on Earth would you deserve to get hired? If you were the boss and you read, what is clearly a standard CV and hasn't really answered your specific questions, would you want to ask for the interview?
When this course was first published, we were in the middle of a pandemic, where employment was rising. In this culture, only those who make the effort can stand out from the crowd. So is this going to be you?
Now you are going to do a little exercise. What I found, that people start to see themselves and their own work very differently and objectively when they pout themselves in the shoes of who is going to read their application.
See what you find out about yourself when you are the boss and how can you improve on the information that you have given in the first daft of your CV.
How are you supposed to get work experience unless someone takes a chance on you, right? This video will help to really be able to use the power of words and the art of self-marketing, by learning to recognize the value in yourself and put them on paper.
You reach a point in your career when work experience becomes more interesting for the employer than your education. So this video will help you to make the most of very few words since this is not going to be the key part of the resume, but there is no resume without it.
This course is covering everything from personal development, to writing a CV, a cover letter, preparation for the interview,AND also to present an image online - on social media - that will not stand in your way. People are always watching - which side of you do you want them to remember?
It is time to puzzle all pieces together, fine-tune the words, delete everything you might not need, after all, make it eye-catching, easy to read, and highlight the best qualities in yourself.
I highly recommend using Canva templates for resumes because they are free and easy to edit. I used them too for the example resumes, which you can download from under the video.
A cover letter is where you get to add a few more details about WHY you want to work for this company, WHY this position. A cover letter is also not a place to be generic. This is the first date. This is the place to make the best first impression. Honesty can go a long way and if you find it is your heart to explain what this job would mean to you, you might just show the employer that you did put in the time and effort before you reached out to them.
Let me start by saying, there is no single recipe that works for all. The success of a job interview doesn't always mean getting the job, but either realizing if this is not for you or recognizing that you might be underqualified, overqualified, or feeling that THIS IS IT.
It is all about learning to make the right decisions for you, and if your chosen job happens to be what you really want, this video will help you to work on the confidence of getting it.
This is the part where your personality either resonates or doesn't with the employer. I will give you some tips on how to feel the room, how to tailor your energy to so it feels more comfortable for others in the room with you. You can only make a first impression once, but if you get to this point, this is one way to make the most of it, while being honest and yourself.
I do recommend repeating this course from time to time and reflecting on how far you have come since the first time you have taken it.
Each time you apply to a new job, just remind yourself of the knowledge that you gained and apply it well.

While many believe that the secret to getting your CV recognized or to get called in for an interview lays in your professional skills and experiences, the truth is, those things only factor in. The reality shows that it is all about self-confidence, passion, internal motivation, and a good representation of self-marketing.
Skills ... yes, they are important, but they are not everything. Through this course you will learn to put yourself into your employer's shoes, you will do a lot of self-reflection and discovery and of course, you will acquire the skills to create a professional CV that's designed to stand out.
After this, we will move onto your cover letter and to the actual interview. Remember, this is not your regular "this is how to write a CV" course. This goes way deeper into your soul to make sure when you are ready to present yourself, you actually know who you are, why you are there, and what you can offer without compromising on salary, hours, or tasks.
