Description

This course will introduce you to several types of stretching techniques including static stretching, passive stretching, proprioceptive neuromuscular facilitation stretching and traction techniques for a full body stretch. We walk you through the benefits of proper stretching and how therapeutic stretching techniques increase flexibility, decrease pain, and restore balance. We included contraindications and when obtaining a doctor note for this treatment would be appropriate. The stretching techniques are presented in detailed streaming video so that you can understand clearly how to incorporate each of these stretching techniques in your self, or partner care routine. You can incorporate what you learn into a full body stretching routine or cherry pick which stretching techniques to utilize for your given situation. We also include information on the pain gate theory as therapeutic stretching techniques can play an important role in reducing pain and risk of injury. Please note: This course is available and beneficial to all, however this course is also approved for 4 CE credits via the NCBTMB so if you're a licensed massage therapist that lives in a state requiring continuing education you may use these credits as long as your state accepts NCBTMB approved home study credits for license renewal.
