Description

For these practice tests students must have basic knowledge of Grade 1 theory of music to be able to answer the questions.

Students preparing for either Trinity or ABRSM Grade 1 Exam will be able to answer these tests.

These include:

In these practice tests students can choose between the UK version of notes namely: Semibreve, Crotchet etc. or the USA version namely Whole note, Half note etc.

- Students need to know the count of each type of note for example a semibreve (or whole note) counts 4 counts as well as how many crotchet (quarter note) beats there are in a semibreve (whole note) or in a minim (half note)

- The Treble and Bass Clef as well as Staff Notation in both Treble and Bass Clef

- Key signatures of C, D, F and G major scales as well as the notes of these scales

- Time signatures 2/4 and 3/4 and 4/4 as well as their grouping rules

- Musical terms and signs grade 1 level

- Technical names such as Tonic, Subdominant and Dominant

- Tonic Triads of C, D, F and G major

- Intervals as numbers only for example unison, second, third, fourth, fifth and eighth

- All the accidental signs namely the sharp, flat and natural sign

- Knowledge of whole tones and semitones
