Continue from part one to master the second and third forms and basic techniques, learn safe forward and backward falls, and explore paths to white to black belt certification.
Learn the inside block, palm down then up to deflect punches across the center, with snap and front stance footwork to execute inside blocks from multiple angles.
Master the outside block from outside to inside, ending at the opposite shoulder with a palm-out, wrist-snapped strike. Cross the center line at 45 degrees to redirect the attack.
Explore the low chop and high chop in Tang Soo Do, building from the outside block to a side stance, with snapping knife-edge chops and relaxed shoulders.
Learn the high chop and low chop from low to high, keeping the solar plexus steady, rotating with a snap toward the side of the neck at a 45-degree angle.
Master cross hand low defense and cross hand high defense to block overhead strikes and kicks, using a front stance and an ax block to catch in the gap.
Master the round kick as a front-leg speed strike or rear-leg power shot, with hip rotation, knee chamber toward the groin or stomach target, and a controlled pivot and return.
Learn two hand defense in front and side stances, reinforcing an inside block with the supporting elbow, and master snap, cross steps, and turn around movements.
Develop coordination by performing two-step combinations that link center block, inside block, and center punch, using grabbing and pulling to set up the punch along the center line.
Master the second combination: high block, high punch in a one-step sequence, using the blocking hand to punch, and turning between front and back leg stances.
Master a three-technique combination—front kick, center punch, and high punch—performed in steps with turns, a low block transition, and alternating punches for fluidity.
Perform center chop and center punch in the front stance, using grabs to offset blocks, finishing with a punch and chop sequence that targets the neck and solar plexus.
Master the final combination of center chop to the neck and center punch from a side stance, with weight shifting, a slight turn of the torso, and a sharp punch.
Now we combine all basic techniques to show how they look in practice, moving back and forth with three, five, or ten techniques depending on space.
Master the back fall by slapping the ground with hands at a 45-degree angle forming a V to dissipate force. Keep chin to chest, ankles crossed, and practice until automatic.
Master front fall by slapping the ground with extended hands and forearms, keeping the body straight and off the ground, and turning the head to the side to stay safe.
Learn form #2 Kicho Hyung Ee Bu, the second basic form in Tang Soo Do, a 20-movement routine with low blocks, high punches, and blocks circling around the center.
Explore form #3, a 20-move Kicho Hyung Sam Bu routine, featuring side block, punches in horse and front stances, low blocks, and pattern-based progression culminating in tension and bow.
