The Exposure Triangle is the foundation of photography, and in this lecture we will touch upon the three elements which make up the Exposure Triangle: Aperture, Shutter Speed and ISO. It’s important to understand these three elements through and through and how they all connect and affect each other. If you do not get it after the first time, don’t worry, but I would definitely recommend you go through it again. You can repeat it as many times as you like.
Still using the auto mode? Time to wave goodbye to it my friends. The auto mode is like a child lock that restricts you from diving into the full potential of your camera. Time to take back full control.
Once you have finished this lecture you will fully understand the difference between JPEG and RAW files and when and why you should use either format.
It’s all about the lens: it truly is! Therefore, understanding the different lens types and what their purposes are, is a core element to really understanding photography.
Explore how UV filters protect lens glass, ND filters enable long exposures in bright light, and polarizing filters enhance landscapes by deepening the blue sky and reducing water reflections.
Photographs act as portals to past memories and experiences, preserving moments with clarity. Use smartphones for quick 30-second captures and refine with Lightroom or Photoshop.
What are AF points? And what are focus modes? It’s okay if you don’t know now, because you certainly will at the end of this lecture.
It’s important to know how your light meter works so you can fully understand why and how your camera reacts to light in different situations. Also many modern cameras have different metering modes and understanding these is a skill worth learning in itself.
Have you ever taken a photo indoors and then wondered later why everyone in the picture looks so orange or blue? I used to a lot. Understanding the concept of white balance (WB) is absolutely key to making your photos look perfect.
A good photographer is more than just someone who knows how to operate his camera and take half decent photographs with it. It is also someone who is a master of observation, and just as importantly, lighting.
