The Ultimate Ableton Disco House Music Production Course

We will be focusing on loop based Disco music where the approach is to produce 5 different sub genres ranging in tempo and style, but with an emphasis on Disco Music as a whole.

Part one of the Disco House course. We will begin by inserting the samples and the beats in order to arrange a track. We will be creating beats and selecting the right samples in order to produce a track of this sub genre.

Also we will look at how to find the root key of a disco sample using a spectrum analyser.

The final part of the Disco House course where we will have an overview of the whole track and to look at how we did the build up and also explained is the way in which the track has been arranged.

This course begins by selecting the correct loops for the track and layering the beats on top. This is done by using the loop selection control panel in order to find the most suitable hooks for the arrangement.

Here we will be finalising the arrangement and setting out the track with the beats on top so that we can lay out the arrangement. We will also be adding automated filter effects to the mix to bring up the loops in the traditional fashion which is best suited for this type of sub genre.

This course focuses on the French House sound of the late 90's. It outlines the way in which samples were cut from tracks and reworked into a new loop.This style of Disco music was created by the likes of Daft Punk and Alan Braxe and is a more pumped up version of Disco House music.

Here we will start to arrange the selected loops and beats. We also will be adding a compressor with a side chain effect added to the mix to create the pumping sound that is the standard practice for this style of production.

This section will finalise the arrangement and review the track by going through the whole production.

This is the slow Disco course where we will work on selecting the correct vocal snippets and arranging a beat pattern. We will be adding percussion loops and also chopping up the vocal and adding delay and frequency cut off effects to create the desired sound.

Here we arrange the track into a short composition and edit the loops in order to create a brand new re-edit. This arrangement is quite straight forward and has a simple but effective outcome.

This is the only course where we will be using 3rd party plug in vst synths. This course is aimed at recreating the early 1980's sound from Europe and New York from the likes of legendary producers such as Bobby Orlando and Patrick Cowley. We will be recording in bass lines and chord arrangements,

This is the final part of the course where we will be adding a Vocoder effect on some vocals in order to give off that cosmic feel which was the key signature for Hi-NRG Music. Then we will close the tutorial with a full arrangement and an overview of the track and all of its components.
