Students are introduced to the idea that without understanding the structure of the self, all other forms of knowledge risk distortion. Students are introduced to key deceptive patterns—such as the illusion of inevitability, learned helplessness, and narrative entrapment—that shape meaning beneath conscious awareness. Classic thinkers like Freud, Mead, and Sartre are used to clarify how internal structures form and how they operate. Students learn to identify when the unconscious is scripting interpretation and how to begin building a system for checking those outputs against evidence.
This lecture presents Rule #7, All evidence must pass the two Tests of Discovery: 1.Can the evidence be Tested 2.Can this test be Replicated? Embedded within Test 2 is the requirement that all evidence be negatable in order to make it eligible for being tested. These 2 rules prevent non-physical evidence from entering the set.
