Description

You can't do everything yourself. Actually, you can't do much by yourself. We all need other people around us to get things done and achieve results. Having realised that, it then becomes a matter of how you go about engaging those people in making their contribution towards achieving the desired outcome.

Great managers delegate in a deep and deliberate way, rather than dishing out tasks and monitoring for compliance.

My Delegate for Results course breaks effective delegation into its component parts and puts them back together in a tried and tested methodology for getting things done and achieving results through people.

This methodology includes a set of approaches, techniques and tools for empowering and inspiring people around you so that great things start happening right away, even though it’s not you doing them. This frees you up to fully occupy YOUR position. It enables you to grow deeper relationships with colleagues and customers by sharpening your communication skills. You will win back your time to really do YOUR job: gain insights, work on your strategies, set big goals and deliver them.

The course is simple and straightforward, though you have to do the work, implement and then practice your learning. There is a series of short videos covering the essentials of my deep and deliberate delegation methodology, each with an assignment for you to try out in your workplace. You write up your experience of doing the assignment in the Workbook (provided at the end of Lesson 1) along with your reflections and learning. As you progress through the course, your Workbook becomes a reflection on your learning journey. You do the work at your own pace and whenever you want - a spare moment on the train or a dedicated study period at work or home. There is no exam, no test and no certificate - this course is for you – your results and your career progression. You don't have to tell people you are doing it, though they will notice the difference and so will you.


Who am I to be teaching you this? Well, so far I've been in industry for over 47 years, the last 25 as a leadership team coach. In my earlier career I was delegated to, I then delegated to others and as a coach I watch how senior leaders delegate and empower their people. I also run a business where I have to delegate much of what gets done to my team. I've seen and experienced a lot of delegation.

I'm also on my own delegation learning journey and believe the best way to learn about something is to teach it. I truly hope you join me on this particular learning journey.
